The journey continued at a much slower pace than anticipated.
Gabel sat atop his horse and glanced at the back of his commander's head.
He thought of how he must be anxious to have her Ladyship along, especially because she is with child. Not only was this a taxing journey, but to then have her amongst the nobles at court, was probably causing him great worry.Gabel's mind then wondered to his own wife.
He glanced back at the carriage in hopes to spot her beautiful face through the small window like he had the day previous.
Damn.
All he could see was a tiny bit of her dark hair.
While slowing his steed down, he moved in closer.
"Sir Gabel! Is everything alright?!"
Gabel flinched as Ulyseon Rovar suddenly rode up next to him.
"Rovar! You scared me."
"You should always be on guard Sir Gabel! Anyway, I saw you slow your steed down, is there something wrong with the carriage?"
"No Rovar." Gabel rolled his eyes at the young knights constant observations.
"Then wh.."
"I was trying to catch a glimpse of my wife."
Ulyseon leaned over, seeming to try and glance through the small window.
"I can see her Ladyship and Lady Lachzion asleep, resting on each other."
"Thank you Rovar," Gabel rolled his eyes.
"I think we are traveling with the most beautiful women in the seven kingdoms! Would you not agree sir Gabel?"
Gabel only offered a nod in response, he knew the more you talked to the energetic lad, the more he wanted to keep talking.
"You met Elara on a raid yes? How did you court her during such a time?"
A smirk pulled at Gabel's lip.
"You wish to hear about how I won her heart during a raid?""Yes!"
Garrow who had been riding slightly behind the carriage, slowly moved his steed forward as also interested in hearing, though he had actually been there.
"That damn raid was going nowhere. It was taking too long for us to fulfill the Kings commands and kill off the overbred monsters. The problem was far worse then we imagined. Villages all over Wedon were under constant attack. So our gracious king decided to send the Loverne knights to join us. We could have split up our orders, in hopes to divide and conquer. However we had no mage. Ruth stayed behind in Anatol for her Ladyships final month of pregnancy. So since the Loverne order had a mage, we opted to stay together. Elara was said mage ."
"I see, but how did you win her favor? Raids are no easy work! I can not imagine trying to win the affection of a lady during such a time."
Gabel let out a small chuckle, though Ulyseon and Garrow were both grown, good looking lads, they seemed to lack the skill of wooing women.
Something that came very natural to him."It happened gradual, but quick at the same time. She casted this enchanted flame spell on my arrows one day. It caused the monsters to burst into flames when struck. Now imagine a beautiful woman, making your choice weapon even more deadly. My heart couldn't resist her after that. Not only that, but she did this spell that made her bow and arrows appear out of thin air. My wife is a talented archer, amongst other things."
Ulyseon's eyes went round.
"A truly amazing woman she is! What an incredible sight to see! What happened next?""Uly." Garrow spoke out moving his steed even closer.
