Elara widened her eyes and glanced back at the small stone building.
She could see now that it looked more like a chapel then just a regular building.
"A wedding?"
Maximillian reached into her cloak and pulled out a beautiful crown made of wildflowers.
"There is just one t-thing you need yet."
She spoke as she placed the flowers on her head.Elara reached up and touched it, her heart pounding heavy in her chest.
"Sir Gabel wanted me to keep this day a secret...I am s-sorry for misleading you this morning....truly."
A small tear rolled down Elara's cheek.
"It seems then that both ... him and I have been keeping secrets."Maximillian reached out and grabbed Elara's hand, "I know...you need not tell me.. I am so very happy for you."
She squeezed Elara's hands then continued, "So...there is a knight inside...waiting to marry the woman he loves. I suggest you go and join him now."
Elara turned towards the door.
Her face flushed, followed by a wave of nerves.
Making her feet feel stuck to the ground.Maximillian stepped beside her and reached out to open the door, "Go on....he is waiting for you."
Elara looked once more at the beautiful redheaded woman before slowly turning her head and walking through the door.
****
"Where is she..."
Gabel stood at the end of the Chapel with Anatol's village priest.
He was starting to sweat for Maximillian was supposed to have had Elara at the chapel a half an hour ago.
After pacing for a minute he sat down in one of the front benches, trying to calm his nerves.Though he had never told Elara he wanted to marry her, he had assumed she knew that was always his intention.
Did she think I would leave her unmarried?
What if she doesn't come?
"Fuck."
Gabel mumbled to himself as his anxieties fully took over.Maybe surprising her this way was not a good idea.
Riftan who was sitting towards the back of the chapel spoke out, "Lachzion, we are in the presence of a Priest. Watch your mouth."
Gabel leaned his head back, "Sorry Commander...I'm just worried...shouldn't they have been here by now?"
Riftan furrowed his brow, "You better not be blaming my wife. She is doing you a service. Now relax."
Just then Riftan suddenly stood as if sensing someone approach the door.
Gabel tried to peek over but couldn't see around his commanders huge frame that was completely blocking the archway.
A minute later Riftan stepped aside, revealing a beautiful figure behind him.
Gabel immediately stood up from the pew. He felt as if his heart was going to stop beating in his chest.
Like an angel descending from heaven, Elara stepped into the building.
Behind her Maximilian quickly snuck in while pulling Riftan by the arm to the back pew.
Heat flushed his face.
She was too beautiful for words.
Her raven hair shined across her beautiful white dress. To him, her beauty was always unmatched. Not even the Elves of old could surpass her.
