Gabel watched Elara sprint across the field to her horse. She shot an arrow into the goblins head causing the monster to let go of her steed and fall over.
Jumping off his horse, Gabel ran over after her.
"No no no....Just hang on!"
He watched as she tried time and time again to summon her magic.
Her delicate hands trembled as she examined the animals wound. The horse continued to cry out in pain. On its neck a huge gash was spurting blood.
"No please hang on, just hang on!"
Gabel took in her wearing form.
It was obvious, that she was running out of mana. Her fare skin looked paler than he had ever seen.
To add, each passing second only prolonged the horses suffering.Kneeling down beside her, he gently placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Elara...we need to end his suffering."
She flinched, then brushed his hand off of her shoulder.
"I am trying to heal him!"Once again he watched as she closed her eyes and tried to bring forth her magic.
Sensing she would not stop until she fainted from mana depletion, Gabel wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her up from the ground.
"Get of off me!" Her arms and legs began wailing about, trying to break free.
She had become so violent with her movements, that Gabel feared she would end up hurting herself.
Quickly spinning her around he leaned down and threw her over his shoulder.
He felt her small fists bang into his back with great force.
"Elara, please calm down."
Philip Weston jumped off his steed and started walking their way.
Before the Loverne commander could say anything, Gabel spat out, "End its suffering."
Elara started to scream as Philip Weston drew his sword while walking over towards her steed.
"No! Don't touch him! Let me heal him!"
"It's okay Elara, it's okay."
Gabel swiftly carried her fighting body over to a Loverne knight who was mounted on his horse."Take her to the village infirmary, she has a cut on her side."
The Loverne knight nodded and forcefully wrapped his arms around Elara, bringing atop of his steed.
Gabel watched as they rode away towards the village.
"What a mess." Ursuline crossed his arms and looked about the field. He took a step forward and firmly commanded, "Start the fires, we must clean this up."
The knights started two huge fires and began to burn the monster carcasses. It took an hour just to gather them all before tossing them into the flames. Gabel watched as black smoke filled the sky.
His heart hurt for Elara.
He knew she loved her horse deeply. The way she cried as the animal suffered, echoed in his ear.
She had fought so hard against him that Gabel could already feel bruises forming on some of his body parts.
Glancing down at his hand he saw a streak of blood from her cut.
When he had picked her up, he saw a gap in the side of her amor. There had been a small amount of blood coming from it.
Closing his eyes, he said a silent prayer, hoping she was alright.
