Chapter 3

Hailey Hughes POV

I wake up cuddled up to Matty with my head in his chest . I lift my head and see him awake and immediately blush embarrassed. " I'm so sorry " " I'm not reminds me of old times " we both sit up on the couch ." Do you want to get breakfast " Matty asks me as I run my finger though my messy hair .

" of course I need need to take a shower and change I'll be quick you can turn on the tv make yourself at home." He smiles at me before reaching for the remote . I shuffle down the hallway to my room .

Matty and I make our way down to the garage . As the elevator doors open my bronco comes into view among my neighbors cars " you got the bronco " I smile at the fact matty remembers my dream car .

" I got it to celebrate turning a profit at the bakery ." He smiles at me and side hugs me . Matty leans down and kisses the top of my head . It feels so good to have Matty back in my life . I still can't believe we lived in the same city for a year but never ran into each other

Fate has a funny way at making things happen at specific time and place . I hate to admit it but when I was in high school and matty and I still talked I had developed a crush on him . Eventually when we drifted apart so did my crush .

Ever since waking up this morning that crush is back . God that's so embarrassing. Matty's an NHL superstar he probably dates models . Definitely not childhood friends turned bakers . I'm glad to have him back in my life and my crush will go away in a few weeks .

At breakfast Matthew and I can't stop giggling. People probably thought we escaped the loony bin . But this is how our friendship was buckets and buckets of laughter and unlimited cuddles .

Everyone use to chirp Matty for how soft he acted around me , but he never cared . One time we even caught are moms trying to plan our wedding and how many kids we'll have . Jeez that was crazy I was 11 . Who am I kidding anytime I envisioned getting married as a kid Matty was always standing at the end of the alter . Hell he even was one time when I was eight and forced him to marry me .

One summer at the lake house with the Tkachuk Family . I had just watched a movie that had the ending as the couples wedding so ultimately I decided I was old enough to have my own . So I marched up to my mom and Chantal and demanded they help me plan my wedding for that afternoon .

Luckily I had been a flower girl earlier that week at a family wedding so mom had the white dress and Chantal cut off the tulle skirt of a dress she owned to make me a veil . They even made me a bouquet from the garden .

Taking some more flowers they decorated the gazebo by the lake and set up some chairs. It looked like a real wedding so once I saw they had everything in order I left to iron out the finer details . Which included asking Taryn to be my maid of honor . She happily accepted excited for me to become her sister .

After that was sorted I went looking for Keith I had a big question to ask him . I found Keith in a bedroom up stairs talking to Matthew . I strutted into the room completely ignore mattys presence. And asked Keith
" can I have your sons hand in marriage " Keith smiled real big at me even let out a chuckle or two before asking me " you want to keep him " " forever " I replied back

" we'll he's all yours " I smiled at getting the answer I wanted " the weddings in an hour at the gazebo your the officiant see you there " I turned around to leave as Matthew yelled back at me " your not even going to ask me ." I turned around hand on hip flip my hair behind my ear and said " it's not like your gonna say no " and then made my way out of the room ignoring Mattys shocked face or Keith's belly laughs .

An hour later my dad walked me down the aisle and gave me away to Matty making sure he promised to always protect me . Matty and I stood hand in hand looking at each other as Keith officiated the wedding and Brady as best man and my brothers and parents as guests .

That memory is one of my favorites. Our parents and siblings had told their point of view throughout the years so much that people who even weren't there that day tell the story to other people .

After breakfast I drive matty back to his house " it's beautiful " I say looking at the house from the driver seat " you should come in everybody's here " I grin before saying " I have a few appointments I need to get to but how bout I come over for dinner ." " yes definitely come to dinner ."

Matty and I exchange our new phone numbers and I'm off on my way to day of nonstop errands then heading to the bakery for a bit . I tend to not work much on the weekends since I do such long hours during the week. I have an incredible staff that makes running the bakery easier on me .
