Im so glad I agreed to come to dinner at Mattys . I didn't realize how much I missed the Tkachuks until I got here tonight . Keith made some stakes on the grill and Chantal made some sides .
I decided not to drink tonight. I really don't like having a single sip of alcohol when I drive so I'm just sticking to soda . Chantal and Emma are having wine the boys are having beer . Taryn found this drink on TikTok she just had to try .
We've been going back and forth telling different stories from our childhoods and some memories of the last few years we haven't seen each other . I begin to tell one of my most guilty memories with Jack .
" When I was younger me and Jack loved playing outside together. It was was winter though so we didn't go out too often. One time we went to play, and I pretended to be a doctor and him a patient. I got out a bike tyre pump to use as a medical tool I guess and pumped air in his mouth only for like 3 disgusting insects to come out and into his mouth. It was hilariously gross. I feel really bad, but it was an accident though "
" omg I would have died " Taryn says laughing so hard she almost falls off her chair . Luckily Brady catches her before she does . " dad do you remember when you tried to teach Brady how to "stand up potty". Dad was not aware that very young children frequently #1 and #2 at the same time. So Brady dropped one on the bathroom floor and you almost puke trying to clean it up . " Matty tells as the next story .
" do you remember Matty that summer we put pink hair dye in Brady's shampoo , we both thought it was temporary but it last till fall ." Laughing so hard at the memories of a pink headed Brady running around all summer . " omg you were so mad at us " Matty says to Brady .
" of course I was I looked like princess poppy from trolls for an entire summer ." Brady's replies glaring at both Matthew and I . " Alright , alright calm down how about we have the cake Hailey Made ." Chantal interrupts before Brady and Matthew could start fighting .
Of all the sweets I made Matthew try over the years that I experimented with , my Boston Crème Cake was his absolute favorite . For all of Matthew birthdays or big moments he always had me make one . So while I was at the bakery earlier I decided to make one to bring tonight .
