Today is Friday , when I got here to Michigan yesterday my friend Charlotte Wells picked me up from the airport and we headed straight to Ann Arbor to start looking at locations for the second location of my bakery Sweet Hughes .
Charlotte is one of my best friends from high school she was a grade above me but we met my first day of freshman year and hit it off. She was even one of my roommates in college with our other friends.
A year before I left Michigan for Miami to start Sweet Hughes , Char graduated with her business degree . She went to work as a manger to a very popular location of a fancy restaurant in Detroit . Char told me she really didn't like living in Detroit and missed Ann Arbor .
When I decided to open my second location in Ann Arbor I immediately called her and offered her the job of manger . Essentially she'll be running the bakery while I'm in Miami . She was so excited and told me yes right away .
So the past few weeks she has been meeting with a realtor to gather properties for me to look at for our second location. Yesterday we saw five properties and none of them were what I imagined for this bakery . The realtor was also getting on my nerves.
Today Charlotte had to go back to work in Detroit , she's gonna continue working there training her replacement until my bakery is closer to being ready for her to do more . So my mom Ellen is tagging along with me to look at the remaining four properties the realtor picked out . I really hope we can get one today .
If we don't my timeline for the bakery won't work. Last night after Charlotte dropped me off at my parents house I was able to have dinner with my parents which was nice . My dad was asking a lot about the bakery and how I'm doing in Miami . My mom spent most of the dinner asking about Matty and how he is .
I'm pretty sure my mom figured out how I feel about Matty but I refuse to tell her anything. If I do she call Chantal Matt's mom and tell her all about it . Those two have wanted us to end up together since the first time Matty held me as a baby and saw how we acted with me .
