⋅⊰ MEI ⊱⋅"Stay still or I swear you'll look like the Joker-"
"But my nose itches and it hurts when I can't scratch it!"
"I'll scratch your nose for you if you stop grabbing my pigtails and yanking-"
"Since when are makeup artists so aggressive?"
"Since their clients try to climb them like monkeys."
Girls' night usually ended up being much less than relaxing when you get Asuka, Yukiko and I together, but this was a whole new level since we included cocktails in the mix. We decided to go all out when I told the girls I'd be out of town for the three-day weekend, sparing the details of where I was going exactly and who I would be with.
We had already tipsily applied masks to our eyes, lips and faces and now I was attempting a makeup look on Asuka as precisely and perfectly as possible. Yukiko had put my hair in braided pigtails high up on my head and now she was sloppily recreating the same hairstyle on Asuka while I did her makeup.
"Okayyy, I'll stop," Asuka sighed overdramatically as she let go of my left pigtail. "But we need more of the alcohols," she added in horribly constructed grammar.
"Don't worry, I've got this!" Yukiko responded, rising to her feet, nearly falling over but catching herself on the arm of the couch beside us. "I brought these drink decoration thingies that look like lipstick... or something..." She trailed off distractedly as she reached the cocktail ingredients in my tiny kitchenette.
Asuka and I 'oo'ed excitedly at Yukiko's declaration as I put the finishing touches on her makeup look with setting spray and gems. As I clapped with enthusiasm, I handed Asuka a mirror to reveal the result as Yukiko carefully brought three matching cocktails into the living room.
"Yay!" I cheered as I chose one of the glasses adorned with a red lipstick decoration atop the pink beverage. "Look, Yukiko, look at Asuka's makeup!" I added proudly.
"Whoooooaa," the girl with dyed dirty blonde hair gawked at the shorter brunette's face awfully close in proximity. "You look like a Star Wars princess."
Asuka gasped happily, as I agreed with closed eyes and a nodding head.
"Yeah, I'mma change your contact to 'Asuka Tano'," I informed her all-too-seriously.
Typically I would be worried about drinking when I know I'm keeping a secret lock and key, but I knew my drunk self well enough to know that I wouldn't spill anything even when my judgment was impaired. I took promises more seriously than anything else in life, and I wasn't about to break the one I made to Hannah the night prior.
Once the girls and I had begun nursing our freshly made cocktails, our fourth drink for the night, we busted out the card games that would inevitably lead to someone doing something stupid and possibly recording it.
"First up: What Do You Meme? For the Girls edition," Asuka announced very seriously- as seriously as a drunk girl with pigtails and heavy makeup can look. "Someone is gonna be embarrassed tonight but we're not gonna remember tomorrow probably so it's okay."
Halfway into the game, Asuka was being beaten up by Yukiko because Asuka's card said something along the lines of "Keep this card if you've ever had a crush on your friend's significant other" and she kept it, soon revealing it was Yukiko's ex. My intoxicated self was cackling like a witch while taking pictures of the brawl, rooting for Yukiko. It honestly wasn't all that surprising, the sight before me, because Asuka and Yukiko tended to swap personalities whenever they drank together. Drunk Mei was pretty much the same as Sober Mei, only way more clumsy and giggly- also I cared way less about my problems.
