Never in my entire life had I witnessed such chivalry, and if I'm completely honest, I wasn't quite sure how to handle it. It wasn't just Chan going to get my suitcase from baggage claim for me; he insisted on carrying it all the way to the car, then he opened the passenger door for me getting in the car and out once we reached Hannah's apartment, then he carried my suitcase inside for me. I just awkwardly smiled and held my hands together every time this happened, and I think he was only getting better at reading me as time went on because he reacted to my awkwardness with a cheeky grin of amusement each time.

Of course I knew the basics of how a gentleman should behave, but I only ever learned that from Koji. My father certainly never provided an example of this, Satoshi was obviously a terrible boyfriend back when I dated him, and I didn't really have any other guy friends, unless you count the SKZ members now. I'd known Chan personally for several months now so of course this wasn't too shocking, but it was still something I was acutely aware of and something to which I still needed to grow accustomed.

It continued on throughout the night, which is what caused it to be such a present forethought continuously, even when we met with the others at their dorms. I did grow a bit anxious as we grew closer, silently wondering what would happen if someone saw me going inside the building alongside, not only Hannah, but Chan especially. I decided not to bring it up, however, as we were soon pulling into the parking area because I'm sure Chan had thought about this and I trusted him to ensure everything would be fine.

Sure enough, before I stepped out of the car, Chan had once again come over to my passenger side and swung it open after collecting a few things from the back of the car. With a playful grin, he held up a black hoodie that had the white English word 'STAFF' printed on the back and instructed me, "Arms up, Sprout."

Unable to conceal my laughter over the plan he'd arranged, I obeyed and lifted my arms up so he could assist in tugging the hoodie over my arms and head; he then pulled his ballcap off and secured it over my head before tugging the hood of his jacket over his hair. As we had entered further into the city toward the dorms, it had begun to lightly rain, so it didn't surprise me when he then opened up a simple dark umbrella to hold over me as he gently helped me hop down from the front seat and onto the ground outside.
