Sleep did not come easy that night. All I could think about was Chan; and it didn't end there. All throughout the morning my mind was consumed by him, barely processing my movements of showering and getting dressed like I was drearily wandering through a thick fog of disbelief.

"What's with you this morning?" Hannah chipped through the barrier between my mind and reality with her voice, eyes lined with analyzation. Before I could do more than blink at her, toothbrush in my mouth, her eyes stretched open wide as she lightly gasped and asked, "Did something happen with you and Chan last night?"

Huffing out a little laugh, I playfully shook my head at her in scolding as I rinsed out my mouth and checked my reflection for anything that may be out of place. "No, Hannah, and nothing will happen with me and Chan," I responded, doing my best to ignore the way my heart sharply ached at the fact being verbalized aloud. "He just kept me company while waiting for you to rise from the dead and let me back inside our room," I added, not fully expanding on the matter, hoping my joke would steer the subject away even if only slightly.

Hannah let out a little noise that sounded a bit like a groan of frustration as she stomped her foot a little like a child, causing me to smile in amusement. "When will you admit there's something between you two? Okay, maybe you're just friends right now, but you guys clearly have chemistry," the woman insisted as she passively observed me packing up my leftover things around the room.

Holding back a small breath of exasperation, I folded my clothes into tinier sections in order to fit them inside my suitcase now that I had merchandise added to the mix. "We literally just met two days ago, Hannah-"

"Who cares? You guys have been talking almost every day over Instagram for almost four months!" She shot back, and I would have laughed at how passionately she was arguing this if I weren't so sleepy-eyed and hungry.

"It's not just that. He's an idol based in South Korea, I'm a barista living in Japan... And besides, doesn't JYP have a dating ban for his idols?" I wondered aloud the last part, not entirely expecting Hannah to answer the question, which she didn't because I'm sure if she knew that, surely she wasn't allowed to discuss it.

Hannah threw her head back and dramatically rolled her eyes at me just as there was a sudden light yet cheerful knock on our door. "Any more dumb, made-up excuses you'd like to add to the mix?" She rhetorically asked me as she began to make her way to the entrance.

Deciding to respond just to aggravate her, I hummed in feigned thought before adding, "He's quite a bit older than me."

Hannah paused, her hand on the doorknob as she scowled at me. "Five years is not that much- and it's not like you're thirteen and he's eighteen; you're both grown-ups! Just shut up and get married already," she snapped in a tone that heavily suggested she was more kidding than serious, which only earned her a sarcastic grin from me in reply as she turned the handle and pulled the door open. Her entire demeanor changed from playful anger to eager delight as her mother was now in sight. "Morning, Mum! How did you sleep?" She asked as she embraced the woman in a brief hug, stepping aside to allow her past the threshold.
