Today was Bright's first day at SCP Labs. He is currently staring at his own file on the internet, but his mind focused on something else.

He absorbed the fact that he was currently in an alternate dimension. It worried him about what had happened to the Jack Bright in this world, if he even existed in the first place.

He scrolled down the comments section, hoping to find a clue about the existence of his counterpart.

{I don't know about you guys, but hear me out.}
|{yes, I will hear you out. he is kinda...}
|{I'd let him take my body any day}

{Damn the higher ups. Too many censors. The guy doesn't seem harmless anyways.}
|{There are times when oblivion is a bliss, you know? Just move on.}

{They said he's from an alternate dimension. I wonder how it's like over there.}
|{Probably a place where he exists. From 4chan here, doesn't seem like there's a man named Jack Bright or any other person named Bright in this dimension.}
 \{This bro is an ultimate stalker. Privacy is nothing to this guy.}

He turned off his computer in relief. A realization also struck him. Finding one's address seems to be easier in this dimension. Woah, I'd be killed by enemies easily if I asked for an apartment. That would be annoying.

His attention was stolen when soldiers started running around the area, screaming "Code A1".

"Hey, what's the commotion about?" One of the two DTFs stationed on his door walked towards him.

"Oh, the commotion? It's nothing to worry about. It's just Doctor Avery playing Roblox."

"Roblox? Why?"

"Well, she was once caught pranking someone in Roblox. It turned out that the one she was pranking was a hacker, and they managed to infiltrate the company files." He bursted out laughing, before he calmed down after a bit.

"I see. So she's a man of culture." The soldier looked confused, before returning from his post.

Dr. Bright remained at his desk, reading whatever important files that he must read until the chime of sweet lunch rang through the halls.

"Let's go, Doctor. It's lunchtime." The two soldiers invited him.

"So, that bell sound indicates lunch?"

"Yes, sir."

"Then let's go!" He walked through the halls that seemed vulnerable the more he looked.

It confused him for a bit, then remembering that he was in an alternate dimension. He started missing his friends.

He walked through the cafeteria that was booming with activity.

"Hey, isn't that the new Thaumiel class?"

"I remember reading in the files that said he was the man in the prophecy."

"What is the prophecy anyway?"

"Who knows. He was named SCP-00, then does that mean the SCP Labs were created for him?"

"So you mean..."

He heard people jump into ridiculous conclusions, though he paid no mind to their opinions. He listened anyway because they were interesting.

"What can I get for you, sir?" The cafe worker turned to Bright.

"Can I get the works, please?" The cafeteria looked at each other in confusion.

"What's that?" Such bummers.

"I'll get some iced coffee and lasagna instead, please." The staff gave him his lunch.

"Doctor, eat with us!"

"Yeah, you can join us!" Many researchers offered him a seat. He looked a bit confused, like a child waiting for his parents to come back.

"Just let him pick, idiots! It's about to start so stop yapping!" He sat at the table where many researchers sat and chattered.

"Doctor, you should watch this!" They chimed excitedly.

"What's about to happen?"

"It's one of Doctor Avery's afternoon concerts!"

"Concerts?"

"Yeah, she sings here everyday at lunch. Everyone here looks forward to it." That sounds familiar.

"Why though?"

"She said that's how she eats. We don't know what she's talking about, but we didn't ask. We just listen to her everyday." The whole cafeteria went quiet when the said doctor brought her... ukulele. Is she supposed to be the Alto Clef of this dimension?

The doctor sang and strummed her ukulele in such grace that people would think that they're in a rock and roll concert.

The song ended with everyone clapping at her amazing "skills".

"Doctor Avery!" Everyone cheered.

"Thank you everyone!" It was then that Bright noticed the true resemblance of her and Clef. It's almost indistinguishable.

He looked away with sadness in his heart. I miss the SCP Foundation.

"That went hard!" Everyone chattered.

"Doctor, how was it?" He ate the last bite of his lasagna and answered.

"It was great! I thought I was in a concert back then!" He cheerfully said.

"Hahaha, I knew it! It was a great experience as well back when I first joined the branch!"

"Be grateful, you youngsters. Back in my days, we all just sat down here like sitting ducks waiting for disaster." The old researcher commented.

"It's alright now, grandpa." Bright's reply made everyone at the table chuckle.

"You little-! I'm still 59! How dare you mock my age!"

"Grandpa, you certainly sound like an old man in their 80s!" Someone else said.

"You brats!" The senior researcher screamed mockingly.

"Alright, enough. Let's just eat in peace, plus one of the big shot researchers will be treating us with desserts!"

"Who? Who?"

"It's Doctor Lebardy!"

"That man? Then it means we're in for a treat!"

"Who is that?" Bright asked.

"Doctor Lebardy? He's a Branch Manager in many areas! A cool guy, really."

"Yeah, it's also speculated that he will be one of the higher ups soon." The staff distributed chocolate croissants and macarons for every staff.

"Just know that I love the people in this branch!" Everyone cheered in the other table. Bright noticed that the man in the suit was staring at him. Specifically, his amulet.

"Hey, you must be the new Doctor Bright! Welcome to Branch 19!"

"Thanks!" He said in response as he received his chocolate croissants and a box of macarons.

Lunch soon ended, and both Bright and his bodyguards went back to his office. He immediately went back to reading SCP files.

"Hey there, uh what's your name?" Bright called the soldier.

"Call me Pedro, sir."

"Sergeant Pedro, how does the SCP Labs assign numbers?"

"No one really knows except the higher ups. We just assume that they assign them based on the order that they were found. And I am not a sergeant, doctor."

"Alright Lieutenant Pedro."

"Please stop." He laughed for a bit before going back to his work. The day went on like that.
