"Excuse me, but what's the most popular sweets here?"

After leaving the inn, I entered a shop that looked like a confectionery shop. I then asked the old man tending to the shop what was the most popular sweets they had. The old man that turned his body around must be a beastman because he had a pair of dog ears that resembled a beagle.

"Oh, what an adorable young man. This is our most popular confectionery. Are you buying for yourself?"

"No, that.... I'm going to visit my fiancé's house so I want to bring a gift with me..."

Adorable young man.... I guess I look adorable because I'm short.

The old man pointed to a glass case as he told me that this was their most popular sweets. Inside the glass case, there were semi-transparent multicolored jellies.

"Ooh! To have a beauty like you as their partner, your spouse must be very happy!"

"I know, right? I'm so very happy about it for sure."

When the old man said that while smiling, Sig-san, who was standing behind me, slung his arm around my shoulder and broadly grinned at the old man.

"Oh my... If it isn't Silver Wolf?! So you're this boy's fiancé! My daughter is a fan of yours! We have your pictures all over our house, you know?"

Realizing who Sig-san was, the old man's eyes widened. It turned out his daughter was a fan of Sig-san.

I knew it, my fiancés are popular~ I guess she must be a big fan if they have Sig-san's pictures all over the house?

"Right, right. This adorable boy is my fiancé. Tell your daughter I'm grateful to her."

"I understand. I will also tell my daughter that she's no match against you."

Sig-san moved his arm from my shoulder to my head. Then he gently stroked my head. Seeing this, the old man laughed.

"Umm... Can you please give me 10 of each? So I can get 40 in total....."

Because the old man was staring at me while smiling like that, I was feeling a little bit embarrassed. For the time being, I needed to focus on getting the gifts. Since the old man already recommended this, I decided to get it. It came in various pretty colors and the semi-translucent was refreshing to look at. It seemed to be the perfect sweets for the hot summer. Especially since we were nearing the peak of summer heat.

Blue, yellow, green and pink.... There were 4 colors in total so I asked him to wrap 10 of each of them.

"Right away. Please wrap 40 of these for me! .... Haha! Are you feeling shy? How adorable~"

After he confirmed which goods I was pointing at, the old man asked the other shopkeeper there to wrap it up for me. Apparently this old man had a pretty high position in this store. He then looked at my face and grinned.

"That... I...."

Uugh... I think I can feel my cheeks getting red because of how hot it feels....

"Ren-chan, don't you think something like these looks good?"

I heard Chris-san calling for me from behind. Turning around, I saw both Chris-san and Fer-san coming our way with a bag of sweets in their hands.

"Oh, they look delicious too."

"Right? They don't look too sweet so I think these will be good for the kids that don't like sweet things."
