Waking up the next morning, our conversations ended late last night which moved to the living room. I barely could sleep being a light sleeper, it was hard for me to get used to the situation I'm in. I went down to the kitchen quietly, making a cup of hot cocoa then sat outside in the backyard. I snuggled into my hoodie more, feeling the breeze a bit cold this early in the morning.
"God! You scared me!", Lando suddenly came outside. He stood a few feet away from where I was sitting, both of us watching the sunrise awkwardly. "You know you can sit next to me, right?", I chuckled at how uncomfortable he looks standing up. Sitting next to me on an empty lounge chair, the awkwardness still there.
"How was your sleep?", Lando asked. "Barely could...I'm a light sleeper." From then on, the conversation started with a few pauses in between. By now the sun was already shining, both of us going back into the kitchen. I started cracking eggs to make pancakes while Lando helps me out scrambling another set of eggs.
Our laughters filled the open space, Lando trying to flip the pancakes really high only to miss the shot. Eventually, Max came down groaning at the noise. Clearly not a morning person. We at the dining table, the three of us continuing our conversation from last night.
"You were a driver too?", I exclaimed at Max. He nodded, smiling proudly. "Yeap, only got far to F2 then called it quits." Listening to his story, I pouted hearing how much he loves racing but had to stop for the sake of his mentality. We changed the sad topic to Lando and Max explaining to me a bit on Formula One. Nodding ever so often, I remember my little brother gushes about F1 and games to me as if I knew what he was talking about. Wait until he gets to see my new roommates.
Max took a sip of his orange juice then gestured to Lando. "Excited for the home race?". Lando beamed excitedly for next week's Silverstone race, a bit of pressure on him since he wants to do well for the Brits. I couldn't help but hype him up like a newbie fan. Turning to hear the door open and a "hello" bellowing, we see a few people with Mary.
I sat on the couch with Max while Lando went up to wake Niran up. Mary gave up a paper on today's scheduled livestream to introduce me as the new Quadrant member. I was very under prepared for this different side of content creating thanks to Alice for not giving me a heads up. Remembering my little brother's constant love for gaming, he would usually talk about Quadrant to me so I might have the slight gist of it.
The livestream was going to be in the backyard, a few Q&As already lined up and the rest of the Quadrant team invited. This was going to be fun.
