The next two days passed, the awkward tension between me and Lando still lingers. What happened or what was about to happen in his car near the beach seemed to start something up. Lando and I became close, like super close, always having playful banters and I always end up in his arms whether he teased or we were just lounging on the couch. It felt different.
Kicking my sandals off, Lando's family followed from behind. I flopped down on the couch with Flo, chatters still going strong after we all had our lunch. Sadly Max had gone back to UK already since he had a few meetings to attend to. Soon after, almost everyone was now sitting around the couches while Lando and his brother stood.
"Audrie, are you spending Christmas with your family?", Lando's mom chirped. Swatting Lando's hand away from annoying me, I turned to look at her with a smile.
"No unfortunately, my family are flying out for an unplanned vacation."
His mom gasped in shock as if someone did a crime. "Oh that's nonsense!", she saddened, "you should come join us for the holiday."
"What?", Lando and I said in unison. Everyone chuckled while we were still processing what she said.
"Oh it's no bother!", she exclaimed, "I hope to see you at our house." She gave a death stare to Lando, gesturing to him to make it sure it happens. We looked at each other, a sheepish smile on Lando's face.
