Rolling over from my sleep, my eyes went to the open curtains showing a clear view of the snowing weather outside. It was Christmas morning and I felt like I already had my present last night as corny as that sounds. My fingers brushed my lips, last night's memory flashed through my mind. Hearing bellows from downstairs, I get off of my bed and stopped in front of the mirror.

Putting on a turtleneck sweater over my t-shirt, I tamed my hair and wipe my eyes before opening the door to go down. As if I was sneaking out, I quietly closed the door. My head turned to the other bedroom room, seeing Lando come out. Saying a shy good morning, I watch his face light up. My heart went crazy as he walked towards me.

"Good morning", he breathes out with his hand creeping up to my cheeks. I could feel the door pressed against me, the gap between us closing in. Shoving Lando off hard, I was surprised to see Savannah coming up the stairs. Lando groaned while I grinned like a maniac to Savannah who was confused.

She looked at the both of us, confusion in her face. "There's breakfast downstairs...are you okay, Lando?"

My face turned to Lando, him hiding his pain and giving a thumbs up. Savannah brushed it off and went to her room while I mouthed apologies to him. "I'm so sorry, Lando. I...panicked."

Gasping, he quickly pecked me on the cheeks and walked off leaving me frozen. With my cheeks a bright red, I followed him behind and went down to almost everyone gathered up in the kitchen. Lando stood across me while I tried to avoid his eyes by engaging in a conversation with the girls. After a lighthearted breakfast, we went to the living room for presents.

I sat uncomfortably on the couch when Lando squeezed himself between me and Flo. My eyes widened, glaring at him. While Lando kept teasing, I tried my best to pretend how he clinged on to me. My glared softened to where my name was called out. "Audrie, this is for you"

Grabbing the little box from Lando's mother, everyone watched me tear the wrapping paper to reveal a small box from Cartier. I couldn't help but gasp at the beautiful gold love necklace. "Oh my god Oliver! I-i can't impose! You shouldn't-"

"It's not from me", she grinned. I looked at her confused, everyone's eyes still on me. Before I could ask, Lando spoke beside me.

"I knew you always wanted a dainty necklace so I thought Cartier would suffice", he smiled. My mouth was gaping by then, his gesture was so sweet. "Suffice? I love it, Lando!", I said and nearly jumped onto him for a hug. A series of claps and awes came as Lando's arms tightens our hug. When I pulled away, he pecked my cheeks making my eyes widen.

My wary eyes looked at everyone but to my surprise, they laughed. "Sweetie, we always knew about you and Lando"

"Knew?", I asked confused. They laugh again. I face Lando who was now blushing too.

"I don't think she has to know now", Lando panicked.

"Oh honey when we met you back in Monaco, it was obvious how highly Lando talked about you", his mother explained while he hides his face.

"I'm sorry?"

"He likes you, dear", she continued. My face turned to shock and embarrassment and so did he. "He didn't tell you yet?"

"No, mum. We only kissed last night", Lando defended. I smacked his arm when he said that. Everyone laughing at us. "Where just happy he finally did something", Oliver added.

"Oh this boy was always dropping hints but never doing anything!", his mother huffed, "and after Luisa, I guess we all could see how he knew she wasn't the right girl."

My happiness slowly faded away when she mentioned his ex's name. As much as I wanted to be overjoyed that my feelings were clear to Lando, I couldn't help but feel ashamed. Lando just broke up with Luisa like a few months ago and the fact that his family knew about his feelings for me before I met them made me feel so stupid.

I forced a sheepish smile on my face, Cisca nudging her mother. "I'm sorry.....uhm...excuse me for a moment."

Walking away out of the house, my legs moved by itself while my mind winded away. My footsteps crunched on the gravel, a shiver coming down my spine when I realized I forgotten a jacket.

"Audrie, wait!"

My head shook more when I heard Lando's voice. Gasping when my body pulled to him, a sound of "oof", came out of my mouth when I crashed into him. Our breaths were heavy against each other's. "Let's talk", he said trying to calm me down.
