PJ's POV:

I was supposed to have left for London days ago. The truth was, I accidentally missed my flight, but then I couldn't bring myself to leave after I booked another. LA had this kind of hold on me, like a magnet.

I scrolled through twitter, in my hotel room that I had been staying in for about a month now. I frowned when I didn't see Noah's "good morning" tweet to her followers at her usual time. 10:30 am, just after she had woken up.

This was very unlike her. The Noah I knew was very into rituals and traditions, we even have a secret handshake. Well, had. I hit the compose button and began to write a tweet to her, but stopped myself.
A public tweet would cause too much speculation. I'm already the guy held responible for #Toah's demise.

I discarded my half finished tweet and began writing a DM instead.

Hope all is okay. Let me know if you need to talk

I pressed send promptly before my feelings of regret and embarrassment invaded my brain.

Stop acting desperate. She's probably busy.

I shook my head, and lay back, waiting for her response, be it bad or good. When I saw her in Walmart a few days ago she looked so ill. I mean, beautiful, still because she is a flawless human being, but her eyes didn't hold that sparkle that they usually did, as cheesy as that sounds.
My phone in my back pocket buzzed happily, breaking the momentary silence. With much difficulty, I pulled it out of my skinny jeans.

Note to self; stop buying jeans in the women's section.

Dan's dimpled face flashed up on my screen. I answered the call swiftly.
"Hello," I said                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                "Hey," I heard Dan's faraway voice

"What's u--"

"Look, dude where are you? You said you'd be coming back four days ago and Phil and I even cleaned out the spare room for you. We thought the fantastic foursome was back."

I sighed deeply.
"I'm so sorry... Some stuff , um , came up." I muttered                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                "Is this about Noah? Leave her alone, PJ, I think you've done enough damage there." Dan moaned

"But I love her." I said simply
                                                                                                                                                                                                                  "That's pretty clear." He snapped
"I'll be back soon, I just have to run some errands. Uh, is that spare room still available?" I said, my voice wavering.
Now it was Dan's turn to sigh.
His voice wavered for a spilt second.
"I suppose so." He said finally "But if you're not back soon enough I'm afraid it will not be available any longer."
I could sense elements of sarcasm in his voice. I chuckled, glad to see his sense of humour had not diminished.
