After sleeping through most of the day, my headache had subsided.
"Ah, the Noah in her natural habitat emerges from her 5 month hibernation" Said Dan, looking at me from across the room.
I growled at him.
"And it seems she is hostile, so I will now be heading to the kitchen."
I laughed but then stopped myself, because my head was still sore.
My smile faded as I realised what had happened yesterday.
Why do I have to mess up everything?
Suddenly my phone started ringing. On a regular day the sound would feel fairly normal to me, but now if felt as if someone was drilling a hole in my head with each dull tone.
I upturned my phone from its face down position on the carpet and squinted at the unknown number.
"Nope" I dismissed the thought of answering the call, and buried my head in a cushion.
After a while the ringing stopped, and my shoulders relaxed from their tensed position. To my disappointment my phone started ringing again, from the same unknown number. I cursed under my breath as I accepted the call.
"Hi, is this Noah? Noah Hennessy?" Said a high pitched female voice
"Uh, yeah. Who's speaking?" I said, rubbing my sore forehead
"This is Lindsey Harrison, the vice director here at vidcon!" The woman said cheerfully
Immediately I heard the word vidcon, my eyes widened and I sat up.
"Oh!"
"Yes, quite a shock right?" Lindsey laughed into the phone so violently I had to remove it from my ear.
"I'm calling because of the popularity of YouTube's newest ship! I think you can guess which one it is.."
Oh no
"Toah?" I half spoke half sighed
"Uh huh! The fan girls go wild whenever anyone mentions it!"
"So what do you want me to do?"
Please don't be what I think it is, please don't be what I think it is.
"We've arranged a truth or dare meet up for you two, all you have to do is show up"
"Sounds..fun" I sighed
"I know right!"
One hour later
"Noah are you okay..?" Asked Phil, putting a hand on my shoulder
"Y-yeah, why?"
"You're shaking. And you've been staring at the door handle for at least 40 seconds" His eyes were now wide with concern
"I'm just a little nervous." I finally mustered the strength to open the door
"If you didn't want to do the meet up, why did you agree to do it?" Said Phil, as we shuffled almost silently down the
corridors
"Lindsey said Troye already agreed.. I couldn't really say no"
My mind wandered to Troye and the hotel "incident"
"Where is this meet up anyway" said Dan irritably
We had torn him away from one of his intense Pokemon sessions, which resulted in him being well and truly pissed off
"Lindsey said its in the main hall." I swiftly turned a corner
"Oh." Said Phil. I could see him and Dan exchange glances
"Isn't that.." Started Dan
"Yes. It's where Troye and Marcus kissed."
I can't do this.
Bad memories crushed my brain as we neared the double doors.
I could already hear screaming, and then eventually the amplified voice of Troye himself.
"WHERES NOAH" I heard a voice scream over the crowd
"She'll be here soon." Said Troye "in the meantime, why don't you guys tell me some of the truths and dates you wanted to ask"
"Why are you waiting outside?" Said Dan
I hadn't realised I'd been standing outside of the door listening for quite a while.
"Me and Dan will be in the canteen if you need us" said Phil, smiling weakly at me
"Yeah, break a leg" Dan punched my arm softly and proceeded to whip out his 3DS
"Finally, just me, charizard and this other bastard Pokemon trainer"
I felt my heartbeat quicken as the awkward couple walked away. I suddenly had to remind myself how to breathe.
"Get your shit together" I commanded myself
As I pushed open the door, there was silence and then, ear piercing screams
"Oh, look who it is!" Said Troye
A smile that looked about as real as Nicki Minaj's ass was plastered on his face
"Sorry I'm late" I said nervously
Troye started walking over to me with a twisted smile, obviously mixed with pain. He wrapped an arm around my waist.
I looked down at my feet but was distracted by Troyes arm. As he slid his arm around my waist, the sleeve of his sweater was pushed up. There was a tiny pink scar just below his elbow, but it didn't stop there. There were at least ten more identical scars, leading down his pale arm, and ending at his wrist.
My breath caught in my throat as I stared at his arm.
He's hurting himself?!
Tears sprang up in the back of my eyes and I looked up at him, searching his eyes.
He looked down, and then noticed his sleeve. He pulled it down quickly and then back at me, seeing the tears slowly filling my eyelids. He frowned.
"So, shall we get started?" He said, smiling at the crowd.
I knew his smile was a mask, to hide the pain.
