Don't mind me throwing some young Leo DiCaprio in here

Troye's POV:

I had just got her back, and here she was, lying in my arms, paralysed once again.

It felt like fate was against  our very being together. Every time I get close to being truly happy again, it's snatched away from me in moments like these. It somehow reminded me of in Romeo and Juliet, when Leonardo DiCaprio yelled "I am fortune's fool," into the air - his gorgeous hair flowing in the wind.

Only it wasn't so glamorous, in my case. I was trembling at the knees with tears flowing relentlessly out of my bloodshot eyes, clinging onto Noah's limp frame.

I abruptly shook myself from my thoughts, dragged her over to the couch and laid her gently down, a tear falling from my face onto hers. I ran over to my phone and dialled 911 as fast as my numb fingers could.

As I heard the familiar ringing tone, I glanced over at her body, my legs shaking.

I can't lose you, I won't. Not again.

"Hello, which emergency service do you require."a voice crackled to life

"Ambulance, please. I-it's my girlfriend, she's--" I sobbed

"Alright sir, please stay calm, we're transferring you to ambulance dispatch"

"Thank you." I said, nearly silently.

Almost immediately, a new voice came through the phone.

"Hello sir, an ambulance is on its way to you. Can you tell me what's wrong with your girlfriend in the meantime?"

"She...we were just talking and then she started to freak out. I tried asking her what was wrong, but she just dropped to the floor" my words were interrupted with sobs and hiccups, and almost completely incoherent.

"Alright, please calm down sir. Please check if she's breathing, can you do that for me?"

"O-okay, I think I can,"

I stumbled over to where she laid and leaned close to her mouth and nose, holding my own breath.

She was breathing. It might have been shaky and irregular, but it was infinitely better than the alternative. Relief washed over me and I smiled, forgetting the person on the other end of the phone.

"Sir..?"

"Y-yes! Sorry, yes she's breathing!" The words tumbled out of my mouth without any filter. I was far too relieved to restrain my glee.

"That's great to hear," the voice replied "now let's see if we can bring her back to consciousness..."

The woman then talked me through putting her in a recovery position on her side, in case she vomited and choked on it whilst laying on her back and how to wake her gently by tapping on her shoulders and pulling on her ear lobes. Within minutes, her eyes fluttered open. I let out a yelp of triumph involuntarily, and proceeded to lunge for the phone which had been left on speaker next to me.

"S-she's awake!" I exclaimed, watching her blink rapidly, her eyes adjusting to the light.

"Okay, keep her stable, and give her plenty of fluids. It seems like she just fainted, so I'll redirect the ambulance. If anything else happens don't hesitate to call us or take her to Accident and Emergency."

I thanked the lady on the phone and hung up, feeling slightly stupid for not checking her breathing before dialling 911.

I sighed and glanced at her, taking in her every movement. She slowly slid her body so she was sitting upright on the couch, and met my gaze. Her eyes looked glazed and disorientated as she attempted to stand.

"No, you rest," I interjected "you just fainted."

She did not speak, but her face held an expression of protest. I handed her a glass of water, and she took a sip gingerly, her eyes still locked on me.

"Do you want me to carry you upstairs?"

She shook her head, opening her mouth to decline.

"Then I'll bring some blankets down."

I pivoted on the spot and set off for the stairs, my mind buzzing. I wasn't losing her. She was still here, alive and breathing, and we had a son. The only thing left now, was that she couldn't remember us being together at all.

My thoughts were interrupted as I planted a foot on the first step of the staircase.

"Troye!"

I turned around to see Noah standing unsteadily, looking straight in my direction.

"Yeah?" I replied

"Before I passed out, I was going to tell you something. Why I was freaking out earlier." She elaborated

I slowly approached her, and took her right hand in mine, sitting down on the couch. She did the same, not letting go of my hand.

"I'm listening." I whispered.
