It had been a couple of days since the cement mixing and thankfully, practice had gone back to normal. Since practice was happening later in the day, the friend group decided to go to the beach. Arlo and Hawk were going to meet everyone else there. Arlo had just finished putting on her black swimsuit when Hawk knocked on the bathroom door.
"Hey Lo, are you ready?" Hawk asked through the bathroom door.
"Uhm, yeah one second." Arlo responded as she looked at herself in the mirror.
Arlo turned to get a side view of herself and then she turned around to look at her back and then she stood straight ahead in the mirror. She over-analyzed every aspect of her body, the way her swimsuit looked on her body, the way her thighs looked, the way her hair fell, the shape of her face, the shape of her body, everything about her appearance. She took a deep breath and pulled a pair of athletic shorts over her bottom half. Hawk knocked again and Arlo opened up the door to see Hawk standing against the door frame with two beach towels thrown over his shoulders. He gave her a quick look up and down before smiling.
"What?" Arlo asked him and covered her stomach with her arms.
"You look good." Hawk responded, still smiling, and he stuck his hand out for Arlo to take it. "Come one let's go."
Arlo took a deep breath and grabbed his hand while he led her out of the house.

Arlo, Hawk and Demetri had been at the beach for a while, while they waited for Miguel. They decided to play volleyball, and it wasn't going well. Hawk told Arlo to go on Demetri's team to help him out. Every time Demetri tried to hit the ball or server it over the net it failed, miserably. Demetri tried serving the ball and it hit the net, again.
"Dem, the ball needs to go over the net." Arlo groaned and rubbed her hand on her forehead.
"Uh." Demetri waved his arm at Arlo and then put his hands on his hips. "Mulligan, send it back."
"There's no mulligans in volleyball." Hawk responded to him in an annoyed tone.
"Says you." Demetri scoffed and started walking away from the net. "Water break."
