Mysterious Encounter

Kyle and Thomas wake up. They have their breakfast and move out. The service provided by the cottage was free. They enjoy the morning sunshine and turn to the woods to catch Pokemon. Kyle feels a hand on his shoulders. Kyle turns back to see the same man that he saw yesterday.

Kyle: Didn't you approach me yesterday?

Thomas soon turns back to see the man. 

The man is tall with a pretty shape, fair skin, white hair, a beard and black eyes. He wears a charcoal jacket, a blue tie and a white undershirt. The man wears black pants and black shoes. He sports a black fedora.

Matty: Good morning, boys! You might not have seen me before. The name is Matty. I am known as Matthew Caddel, too.

Kyle: Why do you follow me?

Matty: I wasn't following you. The jacket you sport shared similarity with that of the person I'm looking for.

Thomas: Now you know Kyle is not the person you are looking for. Why don't you leave?

Matty: Well, you know the person I'm looking for.

Thomas: Do you talk about Jack?

Matty: You are brilliant indeed. Yes, you're right, I have been looking for Jack. I spotted you with Jack yesterday in a Pokemon Center.

Kyle: Is that why you came to me yesterday?

Matty: I mistook you for Jack as your jacket was sleek with red and black as his.

Kyle: You are right. Our jackets are identical.

Thomas: What do you expect from us? We know Jack but not close to him.

Matty: I invite you to join my team.

Kyle and Thomas: What team?

Matty: I wouldn't ask the trainers, who are busy with challenging gyms. If you are a trainer who challenges gyms, say me.

Thomas: We are not!

Matty: Great! So I think you'd be ready to join me.

Kyle: Join you in what?

Matty: I am a Pokemon Police...

Kyle and Thomas gasp and plead that they are the partners of Jack.

Matty: I know you are not his anyone. Listen to me! I am an ex-cop. Jack has a mastermind behind him. I want your help to find the mastermind.

Thomas: Do you come to say that Jack battles Ho-Oh for someone's command?

Matty: You get it right! I suspect it to be Giovanni, the notorious leader of Team Rocket. I decided to track down Jack to stop his reckless actions and expose Giovanni's involvement.

Thomas: Is Giovanni a dangerous person? Who is the Team Rocket?

Matty: Its primary focus is to steal Pokemon and get profit by selling them. Team Rocket also conducts experiments using Pokemon. Their ultimate is to rule the world by exploiting Pokemon. If I am right, Giovanni is using Jack to catch Ho-Oh. It is not clear why he chose a trainer who just started training.

Kyle: What do you want us to do?

Matty: Go to Johto to find the source of the navigator who shared the information about Ho-Oh appearing here.

Thomas: Why did you choose us?

Matty: You might be beginners, but if you agree to help me, I shall give you rewards as a token of appreciation. It shall make you strong.

Kyle: What rewards?

Matty: I can give you Pokemon, evolution stones and tech that help you in your missions.

Kyle: Sounds like a good deal! What do you say, Thomas?

Thomas: Can you assure us that it is safe, Matty?

Matty: You can seek my assistance when you need it. Do you agree to join?

Kyle and Thomas contemplate joining Matty. It will be beneficial for them since they get to know about Matty has assured to reward them. Thomas and Kyle can also gain knowledge about Pokemon. Thomas agrees to this proposal. Soon, Kyle accepts, too. Matty shares their first mission - travel to Johto to find the source of the location. Matty says he has to visit Professor Birch to discuss the new advancements to get added to Pokedexes.

Kyle calls his mom to inform her about his journey to Johto while hiding his mission. Initially, his mom refuses but later agrees after he assures her to return in days. Kyle and Thomas stay back at the cottage that evening. They think about their adventures unfolding in Johto.

Kyle: What kind of Pokemon can you see in Johto?

Thomas: Maybe we will get to see Lance.

Kyle: Who is Lance? Wait...are you talking about the trainer with that dragon Pokemon?

Thomas: Yeah! I am a big fan of Lance. If we ever get to see him, I shall challenge him. I should train hard to defeat him.

Kyle: Yeah! There are many trainers in this world. What kind of Pokemon would Matty have?

Thomas: Only time can answer. I wanted to have a Dragonite of mine. It would be good to have a dragon-type by my side.

Kyle: Speaking of types, it reminds me of a Pokemon show that used to tell young kids tips to become successful trainers. Knowing type effectiveness is a good strategy, he said.

Thomas: Do you know the type of your Pokemon?

Kyle: I know my Treecko is grass type and my Ralts is psychic type. I can learn about types of Pokemon using my Pokedex.

Thomas: Okay, Kyle. I think it's time to sleep.
