Axel: We should extinguish the fire!
Thomas: Mudkip, Water Gun!
Mudkip releases streams of water at the fire. Mike looks around for the grunts but realizes that they have left already. The Pokemon in the forest get trapped in the fire.
Kyle: We must save the Pokemon.
Mike: Let's get them to safety.
Kyle and Mike save the Pokemon out of the fire. Kyle soon realizes that Jack is still in the cabin.
Kyle: Isn't Jack still inside the cabin?
Mike swings to see the cabin.
Mike: The grunts must have left Jack behind. What do we do?
Kyle rushes to Thomas.
Kyle: Thomas, Jack is stuck inside the cabin. We must get him out.
Thomas: Don't worry, I've got this! Mudkip, Water Gun at the cabin.
Mudkip releases a torrent of water at the burning cabin, but it doesn't work.
Kyle: Mudkip couldn't extinguish the fire.
Everyone is in dismay as Mudkip couldn't wear out the fire. Jack might have helped Giovanni, but he worked with him without knowing his motives. He deserves to learn the truth! It was then Axel hatches a plan! He sends out his fiery companion, Charmeleon.
Kyle: What are you going to do?
Axel: Fire against fire!
Mike: Do you think fire can wear out fire?
Thomas: Won't it make things get worse?
Axel: Not exactly! I am going to use some science to save Jack.
The group looks at each other in confusion.
Axel: A larger, hotter fire can pull the oxygen away from a smaller one. Think of it like this: A blowtorch aimed at a candle. The heat from the blowtorch disrupts the oxygen flow, causing the candle flame to flicker and eventually extinguish. It won't extinguish the main blaze, but it will temporarily deprive the flames near the cabin of oxygen, creating a safe passage for the trapped Jack.
Mike: Is it a fire vacuum?
Axel: It is called heat displacement and not a fire vacuum. Let's get into action!
Charmeleon gathers all its might and uses Flamethrower. As the group watched, Charmeleon unleashed a fireball that streaked through the sky and ignited a blaze above the burning cabin. As planned, the rising column of hot air acts as a fire vacuum, drawing in fresh oxygen from the surroundings. This creates a zone of oxygen-deprived air around the cabin, slowly but constricting the fire around the cabin.
Kyle: I'm coming, Jack!
Kyle charges towards the cabin, coughing from the smoke and heat. He sees Jack, his face grimed with soot, coughing from the smoke but otherwise uninjured. He gets close to Jack by dodging fire blasts. Jack desperately looks at Kyle.
Jack: Are you here to save me? (coughs)
Kyle throws Jack over Kyle's shoulder and carries Jack out of the cabin as it collapses. Kyle is relieved to have saved Jack. Mudkip and other water-type Pokemon in the forest extinguished the fire! Then, a cry tore the sky. It was Ho-Oh! It left a rainbow, revitalizing the forest as it flew over the forest. Jack had a glimpse of this graceful sight. Axel and Mike gazed at the sight of the legendary Pokemon.
Axel: I couldn't believe my eyes!
Mike: That's beautiful!
Matty comes riding his Pidgeot. He looks at the burnt cabin and the forest.
Matty: Looks like you have done a great job. Great, boys!
Mike: Matty! You're here!
Matty: Yeah! I saw smoke from the forest. I knew it could be a forest fire and Pokemon could be in danger. You extinguished the fire before I came. Surprisingly, you all are together. I didn't expect this.
Matty's eyes soon shift towards Jack.
Matty: Jack?
Kyle: We saved him.
Matty: Did Team Rocket start the fire?
Kyle: It was an accident.
Thomas: Team Rocket'd left by the time we arrived.
Mike: Matty, Jack requires medical attention. We must get him to the city.
Matty: What's with him?
Axel: Maybe we should talk about that later.
Matty: Okay!
They get to the city and soon get a doctor to treat Jack. After some tests, the doctor says that he is perfect. He remarked that people usually get ill after being trapped in a fire, but Jack was alright!
Axel: Ho-Oh! It must have healed him.
Kyle: Is that possible?
Axel: Ho-Oh can heal people and Pokemon.
Kyle: Wow! Ho-Oh saved Jack even after all he did to it. It is indeed the Pokemon of peace!
