The Chase Begins

As Kyle and Thomas ponder their next move, they are startled by the sound of beating wings overhead. Looking up, they see Matty descending gracefully on his Pidgeot. He lands right before them.

Matty: Hello, guys! What's going on?

Kyle and Thomas exchange glances.

Thomas: We have been trying to figure out how to contact you.

Kyle: We are relieved to see you. How did you come here?

Matty: I came to the city a little while ago.

Kyle: You could have come with us.

Matty: I wanted to keep an eye on Jack back in Hoenn. Jack has reached Johto.

Thomas: He must be heading to Mr.Reynolds' abode.

Matty: Who is Reynolds?

Kyle: He is Jack's grandfather and the one who shares information about where Ho-Oh is to appear.

Matty: You have done your job well.

Thomas: Jack doesn't intend to capture Ho-Oh. Giovanni uses him to trace the location of Ho-Oh.

Matty: Why'd you say that?

Thomas: Giovanni needs Reynolds's help to trace Ho-Oh's location, but Reynolds isn't willing to help Giovanni. Giovanni has managed to gain Jack's trust. Mr.Reynolds believes that his grandson wouldn't trust a wrong person.

Matty: What do you come to say?

Kyle: Reynolds only tells the location of where Ho-Oh is to appear to Jack. Jack conveys this to Giovanni. If we convince Jack about Giovanni's evil intentions, Jack may stop helping Giovanni.

Matty: What if it's too late?

Kyle: It can't be.

Matty: I don't say that's a bad idea, but think the other way! Jack might know Giovanni is evil and could hide it from his grandfather. First, we should tell Mr.Reynolds about this.

As Matty walks to Mr.Reynolds' abode, Kyle stands before him, stretching his arms.

Matty: What's that about?

Kyle: Are you sure we must break Mr.Reynolds' trust in Jack's decisions?

Matty: Don't think sentimentally, okay?

Thomas: Kyle could be right, Matty. We could have revealed Giovanni is an evil person ourselves, but we didn't because it could break his trust in his grandson. We could convince Jack.

Matty contemplates for a moment. He abides by Kyle and Thomas' choice. As he promised, Matty gives the rewards. Matty gives a Deino to Kyle and an Umbreon to Thomas. They are delighted to see their new Pokemon.

Matty: I found both these Pokemon abandoned by their trainers. I sent them to a Pokemon Park where they'd be safe. I got these from there for you.

Kyle: Thanks, Matty. I love this.

Thomas: I finally got a Dark-type Pokemon.

Matty: Would you like to continue with me?

Without any hesitation, they agree. Matty gives them the next mission- find Jack to convince him about the nefarious evil schemes of Team Rocket. Before Matty leaves, he gives them two cards.

Matty: These will function as GPS. I would use them to find your location. Now, bye.

Matty leaves on his Pidgeot. Kyle and Thomas walk towards the city to find Jack. As they reach the city center, they notice Jack. He wasn't alone as two Team Rocket grunts accompanied him.

Kyle: This is the time! Let's go, Thomas.

Thomas: I don't think you're right. If we go now, they'd chase us rather than listen. We must follow them to find the perfect moment to reveal Jack the truth.

Kyle: I agree!

Jack and the grunts start moving. They make their way through the Ilex forest. Jack and the grunts enter a plane, waiting for them in a clearing. The plane takes off. Soon, it is no longer to be visible.

Kyle: Seems like your plan was the worst!

Thomas: Wait, what? You say my plan was not good?

Kyle: We could have approached Jack before he entered the plane! I think you were wrong about this, Thomas.

Thomas: There's no time to argue. Let's figure out some way to follow the plane.

Kyle: I am sure you would come up with a dumb idea again. The mission is over! Thanks to you!

Thomas: Stop thinking that way, Kyleigh.

Kyle: Stop calling me Kyleigh. Matty must be somewhere in the city. Let me go back to tell him about your dumbness.

Thomas: Stop it!

Kyle: You ruin everything!

Thomas: Don't blame this on me!

Kyle clenches his fist in frustration. Kyle and Thomas decide to part ways. Both decide to pursue their paths. Kyle decides to find Jack in his way. Thomas returns to the city, hoping not to see Kyle anymore.
