The men wore black uniforms with a red R. One of the men looked at the orb fixed.
Rocket Grunt1: Hand over that orb you're carrying, kid.
He pointed his gloved fingers to the orb.
Thomas: Why do I have to? Who are you?
Rocket Grunt2: Nobody wants to mess with Team Rocket. You'd better give that orb or fight us.
Kyle and Thomas glanced at each with realization dawning upon them. These were the Team Rocket grunts. Team Rocket, as Matty said, steals Pokemon and sells them. Thomas hesitated, recognizing this was an important moment. He doesn't know how he got the orb but is sure Team Rocket needs it for something evil.
Thomas: No way! I refuse to give you anything.
Rocket Grunt1: Then prepare to fight us!
Sensing danger closing in, Thomas turned to run. Kyle follows Thomas into the wild bushes, pursued by the Team Rocket grunts. Kyle and Thomas could hear the grunts commanding them to stop. They'd run than battle them. Thomas held the orb tight, not to lose it. The forest canopy soon disappears and they find themselves in the city. Thomas and Kyle make their way through the busy crowd. The grunts fail to follow them into the crowd. Thomas and Kyle come to a halt. They look around to see if the grunts still follow.
Kyle: Something's suspicious about the orb. Don't you think so?
Thomas: This orb is indeed suspicious. I couldn't understand how this came to my hands. I remember seeing a dark figure in the forest.
Kyle: Do you think it has something to do with the orb?
Thomas: I think so.
RocketGrunt2: There they are!
Kyle turns back to see the grunts appear nine meters behind them. Kyle alerts Thomas. They waste no second and turn to run, their feet pounding against the pavement through the city streets. One of the grunts summons a Pokemon. A Scyther with its sharp scythes sprints towards them. Its trainer commands it to snatch the orb from Thomas.
Thomas: We have to act quickly!
Kyle: Maybe I have to turn to stop that Pokemon so that you can flee from them.
Thomas nods. He takes a quick left and turns his head to see his friend before disappearing into the crowd. Kyle has already sent his Ralts to fight the Scyther. The grunts yell as they lose Thomas yet again. Kyle calls out to use a confuse ray on the Scyther. Ralts fires a purple ball of aura on Scyther. Scyther gets hit by the ball and is confused. The Scyther chases the Team Rocket grunts instead of Kyle. Kyle sighs and thanks Ralts for its help. He returns Ralts to his Pokeball and looks for Thomas. As he walks on the pavement, he notices Thomas scurrying.
Kyle: Thomas!
Thomas turns to see Kyle. Thomas is delighted to see Kyle. Thomas walks to Kyle.
Thomas: Seems like you have escaped them.
Kyle: Yeah, I did!
Thomas: If they need the orb, it means it is valuable.
Kyle: Do you think it has something to do with any legendary Pokemon?
Thomas: That's something to ponder about. We must inform Matty about this indigo orb.
Kyle: I agree with you.
Kyle and Thomas walk up to a Pokemon Center to access its PC. Thomas puts the orb in his bag. Kyle boots up the PC.
Kyle: Do you have any clue about Matty's contact?
Thomas shakes his head. Kyle overhears a conversation between two trainers. They speak about a skilled artist and photographer who has captured an image of Ho-Oh. The man and his ancestors have served Ho-Oh. The man's family knows secrets about Ho-Oh. The trainers seem to claim that Ho-Oh went extinct. Kyle walks up to the trainers and asks about the man they were talking about. One of the trainers tells the way to the man's residence. Kyle thanks the trainers for sharing the man's residence. Kyle turns to see Thomas.
Kyle: I think I have found some valuable details. We have to go.
Thomas: To where?
Kyle: Don't you remember about a man Matty told us was helping Jack?
Thomas: Yeah, did you get any details about him?
Kyle: I think so. I heard two trainers talk about a person whose destiny is to serve Ho-Oh. He is said to know the secrets of Ho-Oh. We must check on the man.
Thomas: That's some good news. Let's go!
