𝐒𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬. 𝟑

Rafe, Sarah, and Enola were making their way back to their house. Enola was smiling too much because John B asked her out and it was more easy than she thought. Rafe noticed her smiling but decided not to say anything. Sarah kept looking behind her because she wanted to see if Topper was off in the distance waiting for her. She then got a notification on her phone and it was Topper.

"Um I think I'm gonna stay out here for a bit", Sarah said as Rafe and Enola stopped. Sarah then got a little nervous and tried to explain but Enola cut her off. "Don't worry sis, we know you love to be alone in your own world", Enola said as she knew deep down that she was probably staying for Topper, and she wants her sister to enjoy herself without any interference.

"Yeah that's how I be", Sarah said as she put her hands up with a slight chuckle and walked away. Leaving just Rafe and Enola to walk back home together.

As the two made it back home. Ward and Rose weren't home and so wasn't Wheezie. There was a note left saying that they went out to a carnival with Wheezie and her friends.

"Well looks like it's just us here then", Enola said as she held up the note.

"Not bad though, I like spending time with you", Rafe said with a smile.

"Same with you. And it always happens when Sarah isn't around, wow", Enola said with a chuckle.

"Well then that's a sign, we're just a closer sibling duo so this is how it is.. although you're close with Sarah", Rafe said.

"I mean yeah but you're still my only brother and I value that. Plus I feel bad for you", Enola said as Rafe sighed. "No don't turn this into a sad party now", Rafe said with a chuckle as he pushed Enola playfully.

The two then walked to the kitchen to get some ice cream. Rafe grabbed some chocolate ice cream and Enola grabbed mint chocolate. Rafe gagged at the sight of it which made Enola laugh. She then scooped some up and brushed it in Rafes face making him run. She then chased him around the house with the mint flavored ice cream. They then landed back in the kitchen and Enola accidentally flicked the spoon making it hit Rafes face. His cheek then had the ice cream on it. He touched his cheek to look at it and as he did, he bit his lip on disgust until he saw the trash can and threw up.

"You know it's one thing for you to like mint Ice cream but also dad... like maybe if he didn't like I
Would", Rafe said out of breath as he wiped his mouth and walked to the sink.

"You two really don't get along like.. ever ay", Enola said.

"Yup.. we don't.. can't believe a nice word coming out of his mouth. It always ends up being a lie and I don't wanna be fooled no longer", Rafe said as he sighed.

Enola then crossed her arms and leaned against the counter as she was eating her ice cream.  "How much do you hate this? You know, being pushed out by your dad", Enola asked shyly.

"It makes me feel crazy. I didn't do anything and he always put me to seconds or most likely nothing. I've had issues for a while but he said it's my fault and that I have to deal with it on my own.. like I don't care how harsh his parents or dad was on him but I don't deserve this! I'm his kid but I feel like a stranger you know.. like I'm his only son.. and I hate that you guys still laugh it up with him knowing I can't half the time. It's like you guys are bystanders. Makes me feel left out and I don't want to hate y'all, mostly you..", Rafe said as he looked down.

Enola then scratched her head a little as she put her spoon down. Even though Ward may favor Sarah a lot, Enola at least isn't on bad terms with her father. But she felt bad either way because of Rafe and Wards broken father and son relationship. And it's like you have a friend and they hang out with someone who always treats you like nothing. She doesn't want to seem like a bystander and she doesn't want a disconnection in the family anymore.
Sarah may not say the same, she's more out of touch and she doesn't exactly like to face harsh realities. She's more on the soft side. Ward loved that very much about Sarah because he then knew she'd always be reliant on him.

Enola walked over to Rafe and pulled him into a hug. He laid his head upon one of his shoulders as a tear shed from his eye. He couldn't find himself to breakdown crying. He more so felt calm in his younger sisters arms.

"Don't be to far gone sis.. please don't", Rafe mumbled making Enola smile. "I won't ever Rafe.. don't worry, you've still got someone", Enola said as she hugged him tighter.
