𝐒𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝟓.

It was getting dark out and school was tomorrow. But Enola avoided time and stayed with John B. They talked about Each other almost the entire time.

Enola learned more About John B and his dad. She felt saddened by the news and realized that even though people may be having the time of their lives, they can still be grieving deep down.

Although he spoke of his dad, he also spoke about his friends and the fun things they do together. Enola loved how close they were, they did everything together like one big family. Enola wished she had that with her family but not her friends. She loves her friends as they are, mostly Rhyme. They can go days without talking and still re group like nothing happened because they're that comfortable with each other. It's only ever awkward between them when Rhyme would point out John B to Enola.

"You're nice to talk to you know, I'd like to hang with you more if that's even possible", John B said.

"I mean I'd love to.. well like to as well. But it's maybe not likely", Enola said smiling.

" I mean yeah.. I'm around my friends so much and you're around yours and I'm sure Rafe wouldn't like me being around you. Although I'm not an actual bad kid, if anything he seems to be. I remember I caught him in an outburst with his father and plus not to mention you telling me about how he tried hitting pope with a golf club today..", John B said as Enola sunk back into the couch uncomfortable to gossip about her brother.

"Well he has problems I'm sure he'll deal with them soon.. heh", Enola said.

"Yeah he has problems but he shouldn't take it out violently on others. That doesn't make him some victim, makes him a villain", John B said.

"Yeah.. you're not wrong I hate to admit.. I'll um try talking to him about it-", Enola said before John B cut her off.

"Oh sure, if anything you should tell your dad", John B said as Enola cocked her eyebrow.

"What no! They do not have a good relationship, Rafe will literally get worse because of it but he'll listen to me, believe me. We understand each other, we're close", Enola said.

"Okay fine.. I trust you with that", John B said as Enola smiled.

"Okay good", Enola said smiling

Soon Enola then said goodbye to John B but he offered to walk her mom but leave off quickly before any of her family noticed.

Enola. Unlocked the door with a spare key and walked in slowly just to find her father standing there along with Rafe. Leaving Enola puzzled and slightly annoyed. "Why must you guys be together.. this is so fake", Enola said crossing her arms and leaning against a wall by the door. Rafe and Ward then looked at each other and back at Enola as if they were partners on a mission who caught their suspect. "We both have a right to be worried about you.. we can come to terms on that..", Rafe said slightly while kicking his feet swiftly on the floor. Enola cocked her eyebrow and then rolled her eyes. "Bullshit brother! You don't think it's disappointing how you and dad can only come to together when it's someone else but no among you two??", Enola asked in pure disgust.

Ward then sighed and told Rafe to go to bed and that he'll handle it but Enola quickly went over to them and insisted Rafe stayed by grabbing onto one of his wrist. "No dad! He stays! I'm sick of all this family crap. So I even decided to be like Sarah and go free for a bit. And I was with Rhyme so chill out. After everything today I should be the least of your worries", Enola said madly. She lied about Rhyme.

"What do you mean by today? What happened!", Ward shouted as Rafe looked down. "Oh so you did something? What'd you do now son!".

Rafe then tried speaking but his dad cut him off quickly making his sigh. Enola didn't appreciate it at all so she slapped him and pushed him back. "You didn't even let him speak you asshole! So much for a father! You're terrible! Go to hell! And rot there forever! Because if you continue to treat Rafe like shit when he's your son then I hate you! That's right I hate you dad! Always!", Enola shouted as tears ran down her face and she pulled Rafe away upstairs to her room. Sarah and Wheezie came out their room to see what was going on. Wheezie went to check on Ward and soon so did Rose. But Sarah went to Enola's room.

"Ward.. what is this... you seriously have to stop.. I mean it.. that boy has had issues forever now and you ignore it.. I know I'm not their mother but this family is falling apart.. do better.. because you suck at this honestly..", Rose said as she sighed and put one of her hands upon Wheezie's back. "Come on now Wheezie, go back to bed. You don't need to hear any of this", Rose said as Wheezie nodded and went back to bed leaving Rose and Ward together.

Sarah apologized to Rafe about being such a bystander all the time while patting his back. She promise to go by Enola's word and not speak to their dad until he's a better person towards Rafe. Enola then told Rafe that even though things are harsh, she wishes to talk to him about what happened with Pope.

Sarah then hugged them both goodnight and left them room to let them talk with each other.

While Enola was stern to Rafe about what he did to Pope, he sighed a lot and felt ashamed. He doesn't want to be like his father or have his father being a reason on why he screws up. He feels that it is humiliating. He hopes soon to just leave his father for good.

Facing Pope is a hard thing, because Rafe hates being in the wrong. But he doesn't want to be a coward. So he asked Enola to help him with apologizing to Pope tomorrow.

Enola was more than glad to after school, because then Rafe will probably meet John as Well, and Enola could openly be around him while Rafe is there.

Rafe then said he might just give up on His gap year and consider applying for college to start a new life and get away from his dad. He said he'll live on campus but stay in contact with Rose, Enola, Sarah, and Wheezie. If he were to get into the college eventually, he was going to tell everyone apart from Enola as he was already speaking with her about it.

Enola was sad about it because she didn't want him to leave. Although she wanted what was best for her brother, and if it meant that then fine.

Rafe had a feeling ward wasn't actually going to change at all. Things are too far gone anyways and he does not want to wait on his father so he's taking charge.

If and when Rafe is gone, Enola promised that she still won't give Ward time of day and she'll make sure Sarah doesn't. She couldn't say the same for Wheezie because she's a little younger so it's more understandable not to.

Rafe appreciated it and felt like he mattered more now.
