The sun already set, and I was finally done with washing up. I brought the water to the river, which was located behind the castle. When I threw it in there, I walked back to the castle. I was really tired now, and I wanted to sleep so bad.
So I was searching for miss. Celia. When I found her, I saw she was with some other maids. I inhaled and gathered all my courage. I approached her and kind of whispered-like: 'Miss. Celia? If I may interrupt... M-may I ask if I perhaps... could rest somewhere?'
The other maids looked at me like I asked the most rude question in the world. 'That's not my matter, Idris. By the way, the King wants the library to be cleaned before sunrise. So complete that first, then you can search for a place to sleep, I don't care where, as long you don't enter the maids' room. Good luck.' Miss. Celia said, kind of rude.
But I saw she didn't mean it from her heart. I just looked down and nodded. 'Yes ma'am.' And I left to take utensils. When I gathered everything, I realized something.
I have no idea where the library can be located?
So I just walked through the halls until I passed someone. But no one even glanced at me. So I decided to find it myself. And yes, after a few minutes, I found a door which led to the library. After the guard let me in, I gasped at the huge size of this library.
And I was of course a bit impressed about it's beauty, but most of all... I lost all of my courage to clean this library. On my own. I sighed and wondered only one thing... Why me?
I just started cleaning. Maybe it would've been a bit fun if I had a bit interest in books. But I couldn't even read. I never went to school, actually. It was so boring and frustrating, as the covers of some books looked really inviting, but the fact that I couldn't read pulled me back everytime.
After two hours, my eyes started to close a bit. I felt light in my head, due to lack of sleep and energy. But I couldn't stop cleaning. The King would kill me if the library wouldn't be clean before tomorrow sunr-
Screw it, Idris. Just go to sleep. You're a human too.
My conscience told me. I sighed and dropped my body on the ground, supporting against one of the bookshelves. And I dozed off in a few seconds...
Nine hours passed while I was sleeping... The sun already rised, and the library was not cleaned yet...
AUTHOR POV.:
At the other hand, King Daechwita decided to go to the library. He actually never checked if one of his given tasks were done and done properly, only sometimes. And if he would notice it, he would for sure kill the one who was responsible for it.
When he entered the library, he saw that it wasn't cleaned that properly. And while he was walking through the huge bookshelves, he suddenly saw a set of cleaning utensils. Daechwita gritted his teeth, when he saw a sleeping body against the bookshelves.
Someone didn't do their work properly? He approached the body, but then he saw it was Idris.
~whatever, whoever it is, just wake her up and kill her, man~ Daechwita's conscience said.
But somewhere, he couldn't. So he just only shaked her on her shoulder. Roughly.
DAECHWITA'S POV.:
After I shaked her shoulder, she sprung up from her place and looked around, confused, scared and embarassed. 'Took a nice nap?' I asked her. Her face grew red in embarassment. 'Y-Your M-majesty... I'm... I'm so sorry! Please f-forgive me! I-I was just very tired and couldn't- wait no, that's unneccesary information.'
Internally, I found her so cute, that she was correcting herself and repeating things I said yesterday. But of course, I didn't want to show it. Idris continued talking. 'But, Your Majesty, can you please forgive me all my bad deeds which I did today and yesterday? I'm so sorry, but it was my first day here, I had no idea how everything works and-' But I cut her off.
'Stop with your explaination. I don't need it. If you want to sleep, go search a bed.' I said, coldly. ' I- uh.. Miss. Celia forbid me to sleep in the maids' room and I had to clean the library first and then search a place to sleep but I had no-'
'Stop talking for someone's sake here!' I said, acting if I was annoyed. But I wasn't, actually. But I had to keep my cold image, right? Or not? 'I'm sorry, Your Majesty..' Idris said, silenty. I sighed. 'I'll take the fact that you've rested enough for now. Continue cleaning this library. After that, you have to go to Miss. Celia. She'll announce something for you.' I said and left the library.
IDRIS POV.:
'...After that, you have to go to Miss. Celia. She'll announce something for you.' The King said and left the library. I bowed several times and wiped the sweat from my forehead. He didn't kill me... I slapped my forehead and scolded myself for talking like that. I have that thing that if I get too anxious, I'm like talking a lot in a few seconds.
I continued cleaning the library, and after 2 more hours, I was finally finished. I put the cleaning stuff away and wiped my hands before I went to miss. Celia. I wondered what she had to tell me.
'Hello, Idris. Sorry for before... I had to act like that because of the company I had.' Miss. Celia said immediately. 'No, no. Don't apologize. I completely understand. Well, the King told me that you had to tell me something?' I asked.
'Yeah, well, actually... uh... I got a letter -an official one- from the King in which he ordered you to become his personal maid.' Miss. Celia said.
