She somewhat threw me in the carriage and demanded the equistrian to go towards the royal palace. The equistrian looked bewildred, looking at me and at the woman who was piercing her eyes trough his. He shivered a bit under her intense gaze. 'Y-Yes Miss. Jacobs!' He said and quickly spurred on his horses.
So her name was Miss. Jacobs... Miss Jacobs sat opposite of me, avoiding eye contact. I still didn't know why she accused me of a crime I didn't even commit, but I told my self: You're telling the truth so no need to be scared.
I'm not scared of what's going to happen, I'm scared of the King..
After a few minutes, we arrived at the huge entrances of the palace. After miss. Jacobs indentified herself to the guards, the big doors opened and we entered the palace. I got a little flashback of last time when I arrived her with my father- I mean uncle.
But I quickly shoved that thought away. Miss. Jacobs was gently helped to get out of the carriage by the equistrian, as I had to get out by myself. We were allowed to enter the big palace and we were welcomed by the familiar hallway. I internally smiled.
The Kings' butler approached us and bowed towards Miss. Jacobs. 'Good afternoon, Miss. Jacobs! What brings you here?' Hoseok asked. I remembered his name from last time. 'Good afternoon to you too, Mr. Jung. I would like to meet his majesty the King, please. I need to notify a crime.' she said.
Mr. Jung nodded and without hesitation, he went to inform the King about our visit. Miss. Jacobs must be a known woman here. A few minutes later, mr. Jung came back. 'The King is ready to meet you, Miss Jacobs. You can enter.' He said.
We went through the big doors and saw the King sitting on his throne. I bowed down, but to my surprise, Miss. Jacobs didn't.
'What brings you here, Miss. Jacobs?' The Kings' cold tone galmed through the parlor, which caused me to get instant shivers down my spine. I sensed Miss Jacobs making a elegant bow. 'Your majesty the King, I'm here to inform you about a crime this girl here beside me commited.' Miss Jacobs said.
I could feel the Kings piercing gaze on me. 'Tell me.' He commanded.
DAECHWITA POV.:
'Well, Your majesty the King, this girl here had the nerve to take advantage of your name to get into our school. She told me you sent her to our school. I'm so sorry, but I had to report this.' Miss Jacobs said. What. The. Flower.
I was planning to say that it was a misunderstanding, when suddenly an idea popped up in my mind. I internally smirked. 'Yes, Miss. Jacobs. That is indeed a crime. Can the girl beside you stand up?' I ordered Idris.
She stood up and looked down. I could read fear and confusion out of her body language. 'Young lady, do you know the punishment you'll get for committing this crime?' I asked her with a cold tone. 'D-Death, Your majesty...' Idris whispered.
'What did you say? I couldn't hear you.' I said. 'Death, Your Majesty.' Idris said louder. 'Very good, young lady. You know the rules of my country very well. Do you also know the punishment for accusing an innocent human of something you cannot monitor?' I said.
'That's also death, Your Majesty...' Idris said with a shaking voice. I smirked. 'Well done, Lee Idris.' I praised her. I saw the surprised expression on Miss. Jacobs face. I could almost read her mind: how does he know her name?
'You're wondering why I know Idris' name, right?' I said. Miss. Jacobs actually dared to nod her head. I chuckled and stepped off my throne to approach her. When I was only an armlength distanced from her, I stopped and enjoyed seeing her shaking figure. 'That's because she told the truth. She was indeed sent by me, she didn't use my name without permission and she will not get punished. Instead, you will get punished.' I said in a deep and growling voice.
I saw her getting stiffened. 'Oh no, Your majesty, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry! It was a misunderstanding! A total misunderstanding! I just couldn't sense from her... appearance that she was sent by you, Your Majesty! Forgive me, forgive me, please!' She blabbered but I shut her mouth by litteraly slapping her.
'You coward, how dare you talking back! I gave you your verdict: death. No turning back.' I said. Miss. Jacobs started vibrating even more. Suddenly, something unexpected happened.
I saw Idris falling on her knees again. 'Your majesty, forgive me already, but I beg for mercy for Miss. Jacobs. She just did her job and wanted to follow your rules! She didn't know what my intention was, so please forgive her!' She said with a loud voice. I sensed a part of scaredness in her voice.
How can she be so kindhearted? 'She accused you wrongly.' I said shortly. 'Yes, I know! But it doesn't and didn't affect me! It was a mistake, your Majesty! Forgive me, your Majesty, for being so disrespectful and rude, but please, let it slide for this time! And if you won't cancel the verdict, I'll take the punishment on me!' She suddenly said.
I'll take the punishment on me.
No.
'No, you won't!' I said. I turned my head towards Miss. Jacobs. 'Listen to her words. She even tried to sacrifice herself for a coward like you! Apologize to her sincerely, then I'll maybe let your punishment slide.' I said.
Miss. Jacobs immediately turned towards Idris (who already stood up) and fell on her knees in front of her. 'Forgive me, Lee Idris! I'm so sorry for what I did, I didn't mean it! I'm so sorry, please forgive me!' She cried out. Idris gently placed her hand on her shoulder, indicating her to stand up.
'Come on, calm down. I forgive you, it's not your fault. I actually should be praising you for being so obedient to the Kingdoms' rules.' Idris said. Miss. Jacobs let out a sniff and wiped her tears. 'Thank you so much, you're too good!' she said.
I can't dissagree.
'Miss. Jacobs, you'll leave.' I said. Miss. Jacobs bowed and left. I turned my back to Idris and walked back to my throne. I sat on it for a while, thinking about what just happened. Wait. Did I just give someone mercy? Did I not kill someone who requested me? What?
IDRIS POV.:
The King turned and walked back to his throne, sitting there and thinking. Unknowningly, I was checking him out. He looked so majestic in his clothes which were spread all around the throne. His left arm was placed on the armrest while his veiny hand was hanging over the edge.
His right hands' fingers were gently placed over his temple. It made him look so mighty and wise. His facial expression was very serious and cold, as usual. The scar over his right eye, which characterized him, was half healed. It looked dangerous, but not ugly. It also did not make his whole face ugly. It actually made him more beautiful. His legs were spread out widely with his both feet on the ground.
I was pulled out of my daydream when he suddenly spoke. 'How are you so kindhearted? How do you do that?' He asked. I was a little taken aback with this sudden question. 'Uh- I... don't know? It's just my personality, Your majesty.' I answered.
'Does it feel good when you be like this?' The King asked. Why all these questions? 'Uh, Yes, your Majesty, it does feel good.' I answered. The King just hummed. I was shifting on my feet, nervously. 'Why?' He asked.
'Because it feels good when you make someone happy, when you make other people feel like they're worth a lot. It gives a good feeling when you let people know that you're there for them.' I explained without hesitating.
'Okay.' The King just said. 'You may leave.' I bowed and immediately left the with tension filled parlor. What did just happen?
