The other guards watched and horror was writting on their faces.

I turned towards them. 'See what happened to him? Tell me the truth, right now!' I demanded them. They were shivering in fear and constantly shaking their heads. 'No, no, your majesty!' They said. 'Alright. I lowkey believe you.' I said.

I saw their bodies relaxing a bit out of relief. 'Thank you so much your majesty!' One of them said while he bent down to make a curtsy.

'But you failed to chase Lee Idris down. So you'll get punished either way.' I continued my sentence with a filthy smirk. And the horror was back on their faces. I gestured the tiger to kill those two guards, which he did with a loud roar.

I watched everything happening, but my mind was still wondering where Idris could be.

Why do I miss her? She's just a low range maid, what's the point of having her here? I could just appoint another maid as my personal maid...

But her mischief doings kind of amused me. I missed it, how she used to break something, how she was always at the wrong place on the wrong time and felt embarrassed, how she sneaked into the kitchen to get some foods for herself at night...

And why was I not actually angry at her when I caught her in my room with her friend? I blamed myself for talking to her like that, because if I didn't, she would'nt have fled from the palace. She would still be here, unknowningly amusing me.

Whenever I saw her doing stupid things, I almost got the urge to smile.

••♥••

Three days passed but no one found Idris. She was safely hidden in de alley where she landed three days ago. Alex' mother invited her to stay in her house as long as she needed. Idris really found her place there, even though the circumstances weren't that good and she had to live very primitively, she really felt good.

How simple everything was, Idris adored it. But how much she told herself not to miss the palace, she couldn't. She did miss the palace. Or maybe, she missed the King himself...

Idris had to agree with the fact that she kinda liked him. When she first saw him, she was surprised and amazed with his beauty. She imagined him to be a cruel and ugly man. Well that cruel part is true. But the uglyness not.

He is mesmerizing. And his royal way of walking, his whole appearance was unreal. His eyes, which could easily pierce through your soul, his mouth which never showed a actual smile, but were still formed flawlessly. And the wound which went through his eye... If it was on someone else's skin, she would've found it ugly and creepy. But on his face, it was... beautiful.

Even though he acted so cold with her, she really liked him. No matter what. And she realised it for the first time right now.

But would she still like him after a few days, if she knew what he was up to after he came to know where she was?

DAECHWITA POV.:

After four days, one of the detectives I had sent into the country to search for Idris, entered my throne parlor. 'What is it?' I asked. 'Your Majesty, I've found Lee Idris.' He said.

I stood up from my throne and smirked internally. 'Where is she right now?' I asked. 'She's at Brookstone Alley. She lives in house number 21 from the left when you enter, to be exact.' He reported. 'That's amazing. You can go. I'll make sure you'll get promoted.' I assured him, on which he bowed and thanked me.

After he left, I called one of the engineers. 'What can I do for you, Your Majesty?' He asked while bowing. 'I need you to cut of the water system in one of the alleys. The Brookstone Alley to be exact.' I demanded him. 'Yes, Your Majesty.' He said while bowing.

I'll make sure you get a worse life there, unbearable. You have to come back here willingly first. If this doesn't work, I'll use harder ways. I told myself, not caring if this was the right way or not.

IDRIS POV.:

The next day, I was sitting at the table while eating my thin piece of bread. I saw that there was no bowl with water today. I wondered why, as Alex' mom wasn't that wealthy, but she was very strict on staying hydrated.

But I didn't ask her, as I was scared I would come over as spoiled or something. I believed that a day starting without water wouldn't be such a big disaster, right?

At that moment, Alex' mother entered the house with a worried face. 'What's wrong?' I asked her. 'They cut of the water systems and blocked the way to the river. We can't get any water. The only way to get water is to pay, but we don't have any money left anymore.' She explained.

I gasped. 'That's horrible! Oh no, I should've never entered your house! I'm just burdening you... I'll go back!' I said. 'No, no! Don't go back! The King will kill you for sure! Stay here, you're not burdening us at all! We'll find a way to get water, don't worry!' Alex' mother pushed me back on the bench.

'You don't have to treat me like a princess. I'm helping you.' I said and stood up again. Alex' mother, Stefania, looked at me with a grateful look. 'Thank you so much...' She whispered-said.

A few minutes later, I was on my way towards the river. When I almost arrived, I saw that the road was blocked with a huge barricade.

'They only blocked our neighbourhood. Otherwise, the barricade wouldn't be so detailed.' I stated to myself. I approached the guards who were guarding over the barricade. 'Hey! You! Why did you block the way to our river?!' I shouted.

'Orders of the King.' He said in a monotone voice. Of course, the King! He did this on purpose, so I would get back to the palace by myself. How dare he to think so low of me! I'm not like him, that I need constant luxury.

I wished I could say this to him, but it would make my death sentence even worse. Suddenly the guard at the other side looked at me. 'Hey, aren't you that girl who escaped the palace?' He said. I glanced at him and saw that it was one of the guards who chased me.

I stiffened, but tried to look cool. 'Uh, no? Who're you talking about?' I said with a innocent face. 'Your face is very familiar to me!' The guard said. 'Seriously, I don't even know what you are talking about!' I said with an annoyed face.

I almost thought I saved myself out of the situation. Almost.

I'm thinking to start a(nother) book with Taehyung as the male lead.

Let me know what topics you find the best:

-World War 2 Soldier (in France, Normandia)

-Detective in the 1800's (in United Kingdom - based on Enola Holmes)

-Captain of a cruise ship in the early 1900's (Korea - based on the Titanic disaster)
