There I was...standing in the cold dead of winter, fresh snowflakes covering my once charcoal coloured coat, my heart roaring like a lion on the edge of its prey, I could feel the beat of my heart through my head and down each arm, I could feel the cold of the night cascade over my soul, though the warmth of my love overtook it by miles.
I pounded my fist on the door with so much force my knuckles felt purple to the touch...everything in me was screaming to stay put, just wait, remember what it means to be alive, remember what it means to have faith, remember what it means when two souls collide, both tangling themselves inside each others hearts till they no longer belong to them.

this is it....

3 HOURS BEFORE...

"Honestly I have no clue what I'm gonna do next, maybe move to Philly, try get a new job, I don't know"

"Well whatever you chose to do we're here for you babe okay"

Amber smiled from ear to ear as she listed all the things she planned on doing in the new year.

She was working as a secretary but got fired last week because of her reading difficulties. It was unfair, and we always hated how she was treated different because her limitations to reading and her speech impediment, because she was just like us, she was caring and the kindest soul you would ever meet.

"Enough sob talk, get up and show us your speed walk, I know you can do it"

"Oh yeah!" Marie agreed as they both cheered me on.

"No!" I laughed.
The past 5 weeks I've been practicing on my leg, I've finally got the hang of walking normally, and I'm starting to be able to pick up speed, slowly but I'm getting there.

Marie death stared me.

"I'm not walking fast for you I'll look like an idiot" I laughed as we sat at the booth in the back of the restaurant.

"Fine" they gave up.

"You know I saw Cameron the other night, he was at bar 57" Marie mentioned rolling her eyes.

"Oh, how is he?" I didn't really know what to say, hearing his name only reminded me of Grey.

"Still an ass" she rolled her eyes.

"You t-two need to get over your beef" Amber snickered.

After lunch and a lot of hours shopping we headed back to the apartment and all quickly showered before getting dressed for dinner.

Amber had lost her job and we thought we needed to brighten the atmosphere for her...

....we walked with our arms linked down the well illuminated busy streets of New York still shivering from the winter of the new year.

"Veronas! Guys I love t-this restaurant" Ambers smile grew wider as she realised where we booked.

We both laughed at our innocent lamb as she acted as if we had no clue where her favourite place to eat was, which she probably didn't, she had a horrible memory.

"3 vodka sodas please!"

"Marie n-no im not drinking tonight" Amber protested, she's never been one to like the taste of it.

"Fine more for me" she smiled at the bartender who had been eyeing her off the entire time.

Marie's long bright strawberry blonde hair and gifted melons made her irresistible, even to woman.
