Dakota Otskai

Dakota of Otskai was a young man from the Unbroken lands, and he was a member of the New Moon. He fought with an incredible feat of mechanical engineering, a weapons case on his back he called Deus ex Machina. He had no last name and called himself Dakota of Otskai, referencing the town he grew up in.

Characteristics

Appearance

Dakota Otskai was the youngest member of the New Moon at 19 years of age, and he was 5'8''. He had messy shoulder length hair that was a semi shaggy mullet, and it seemed to be black but also dark purple. He had jade green eyes. His left ear was pierced and he would sometimes wear either a black stud earring or two silver loops. He would cut his hair himself, or Rosalie did it, and would often let his hair grow for months. At the start of Crimson Assassin, his hair was to his shoulders but he would cut it in Havenesith. People said this made him look older and maybe slightly intimidating. 

Dakota thought he was edgy and cool only wearing black. He wore a black trench coat with a popped collar, and the coat stretched nearly to the floor. Around his neck was a purple neckerchief patterned in his homeland's style. He wore a black knit turtleneck sweater under his coat, and black pants and black combat boots. Black black black. Like a backpack Deus ex Machina was strapped across his back and latched together in an x shaped strap on his chest. There was some sort of silver gear acting as a shoulder guard on his right side. He wore at least three belts around his waist. 

Personality

Dakota was a friendly and open minded individual who was often seen as immature by others, but he had a good heart. He liked to be the center of attention and did so by dropping jokes, puns, and one liners everywhere he went. In tense situations, Dakota would try to impress the enemy with his humor and quick wit, even going as far as to hit on them romantically at times, which he would always remind the New Moon that it was to confuse the enemy. This behavior was generally tolerated by his allies, everyone except Melanee of course, who it made angry. They would bicker often, and Dakota secretly liked it. Nobody has ever seen him truly mad, actually. The only things Dakota got angry about were if someone disrespected Deus ex Machina, or perhaps simpler things such as pancakes vs waffles. No matter the circumstance, Dakota was very loyal and would always be there for his friends, in a hero saving the damsel in distress sort of way as he thought in his head. 

In fact, that hero persona played a large role in Dakota's person. Since a kid he always wanted to prove himself at something, to be remembered. So time after time he would try to take center stage whenever he could, to showcase his skills and be appreciated. A majority of the time his efforts would fail, but Dakota had great resilience and setbacks rarely got him down. An optimist, if he kept on training and trying, improving every day, he knew his time to shine and save the day would come eventually, and that was his smaller drive. His central goal he told no one except Rosalie who was there that day, and that was to repay the debts he felt he owed after the death of Chardon by his hands.
