Abhi was waiting for Adhya downstairs. He called out, "Angel, it's getting late. We have to go."Adhya responded, "Maan, just give me 2 minutes."
She came downstairs with light makeup, looking radiant. Abhi couldn't help but move a strand of hair from her face. He whispered in her ear, "Please spare my poor heart, Angel." He then kissed her cheek. She laughed and pushed him gently, saying, "Let's go, Maan."
Abhi took her hand in his, and they headed towards the opposite building, which was supposed to be Abhi's house. As they got closer, Adhya noticed that it had been renovated, and there was a sign that read "Adhya Foundation." Confusion washed over her face, and she turned to Abhi for an explanation. Abhi looked at her, a smile playing on his lips, and began to reveal the surprise he had prepared.
Abhi explained, "Angel, this is your foundation for kids. Do you remember when we were 9 years old, we went on a picnic and saw some kids standing near the entrance, begging? You said that if possible, we could take all of them home. Well, here you can take care of all those kids. This is your foundation. I wanted to give you something meaningful, something you've always dreamed of. While you're away, I'll take care of this."
Adhya's eyes widened in amazement as she gazed at the sign and the building. She was at a loss for words, but her heart swelled with joy. She hugged him tightly and said, "Maan, you still remember."
Abhi cupped her face and said, "I remember every single thing you said, Angel."
She was too moved for words, tears filling her eyes. She said, "Thank you, Maan. This is the best gift."
He wiped her tears away and said, "Hold back your river; we have to go inside. The kids are waiting for you." He took her hand and led her inside the foundation.
There were 8 to 9 kids and workers who warmly welcomed them. Abhi introduced Adhya to everyone, and she cheerfully greeted the workers. The kids couldn't contain their excitement and pulled her into playing various games. Adhya happily joined them, playing alongside the children. Abhi watched with a smile as she played merrily with the kids.
Adhya eventually pulled Abhi into the fun, and they played games with the children until they were all exhausted. As they prepared to leave, one of the kids said, "Di, please come often and visit us." Adhya ruffled the child's hair and promised, "Abhi will come to visit you often. I promise to visit whenever I have time, but you all must promise me to study hard."
The kids nodded in agreement, promising her their best efforts. Afterward, Abhi dropped Adhya off at her home and then went to attend to some work. As she entered her home, Adhya was immediately surrounded by her brothers, eager to hear about her day.
Adhya shared the details of her foundation with her brothers, encouraging them to visit the kids often. Everyone agreed and was excited about the idea. Adhya didn't mention the proposal to her brothers, thinking it would be better if Abhi told them himself.
As the days passed, Adhya made all the necessary preparations and packed for her studies in a new city. Abhi was standing on the balcony, gazing at the sky, when Adhya quietly approached him. She wrapped her arms around him and asked, "What are you thinking, Maan?"
He sighed, turning to face her. Cupping her cheek, he said with a hint of sadness in his voice, "Tomorrow, you will be leaving." Adhya rested her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat. She reassured him, "Maan, it's only two years. It will pass quickly, and I'll come home often. But promise me you won't abandon all your work and come looking for me, okay?" She held out her little finger, waiting to seal the promise.
Abhi sighed heavily, sealing his promise. "You will be the death of me, Angel, but I'm happily willing to die if you ask me to," he said, resting his forehead against hers. She laughed and teased him, "Maan, you're becoming way too cheesy these days."
