Abhi POV:
When Adhya revealed that it was because of my mother, my emotions overtook me completely. Tears welled up in my eyes, and I turned to her, my voice trembling as I asked, "What exactly happened, Angel?"
She narrated the entire story Dad had told her and mentioned "Maan. It was clear to everyone that somehow she was involved in Meera Maa's death." My rage intensified, and I stood up, and took my licensed gun from the drawer.
But Adhya reacted swiftly, catching my hand firmly to prevent me from moving. "Maan, it's not the right time," she said, her voice steady and unwavering. "We need evidence. I understand your anger, but we must be patient. Killing her won't bring your mother back."
I was in no state to listen to her reasoning. I wanted to confront the person responsible for my mother's death, the one who had made me suffer for as long as I could remember. My anger nearly boiled over as I raised my voice, almost shouting, "Angel, please, let me go. I have to do this." But Adhya refused to yield, holding onto my hand with incredible strength.
I looked at Adhya with a fierce anger burning in my eyes. Anyone else in that room would have trembled in fear under my gaze, but Adhya met my eyes without flinching. She implored, "Maan, please. I don't want to lose you because you've lost control and killed somebody."
Sighing, I knew she was right, but I was still filled with a determination to seek vengeance. I said firmly, "Angel, I will make them pay."
Adhya gently turned me to face her, her eyes locking onto mine. She pleaded, "Maan, let me gather enough evidence, and then I would be more than happy to see them pay for their actions. Until then, promise me that you won't attempt anything on your own."
Reluctantly, I agreed, "Okay, fine, I promise. But, Angel, if I ever find out your life is in danger, I won't hesitate to kill them then and there."
She fisted her arm around my collar, pulling me close, and kissed me. Our kiss started soft, but it quickly deepened. I fought for entrance, but she resisted, so I bit her lower lip playfully. She gasped, and I took that opportunity to enter her mouth, shamelessly exploring every inch with my tongue. When I sensed she was struggling to breathe, I released her, the intensity of our connection leaving us both breathless.
She continued to gaze at me, still holding her breath. I softly traced my finger along her hand and urged her to breathe, saying, "Breathe, Angel."
Taking a deep breath, she finally released it and admitted, "Maan, my heart is beating so fast that I think I'm having a heart attack."
I chuckled, pressing my forehead against hers, and then took her hand to place it on my chest, saying, "Feel this, Angel."
As she listened to my heartbeat, there was a hushed silence. She looked at me, her eyes wide, and said, "Oh my God, Maan, what should we do? We're going to die."
I couldn't help but laugh at her and replied, "What should I do with you, Angel? As long as you're fine, my heart will be too. Don't worry."
She questioned why, and I responded with a smile, "Because you are my heart, Angel."
In response, she hugged me tightly, placing her head near my heart, and said, "And you're my heartbeat, Maan."
We both laughed, savoring the warmth of our embrace.
The next day, I entered my office, determined to uncover the mole responsible for the losses my company was suffering. We had lost a significant project to a rival company because someone had sold our project files to them. As I sat in my cabin, deep in thought, I remembered what Adhya had told me about Sunandha.
