Abhi POV:
Days passed after Adhya's return, and everything was gradually getting back to normal. She was managing the foundation and working on a new book. However, I found myself stuck in the office, growing increasingly frustrated with the company. Something is not right with the company, and I couldn't quite pinpoint what it was. A significant project was looming, and it demanded my attention, causing me to stay late every day. Adhya was annoyed with me, but my hands were tied.
I sat in my office, contemplating our situation, when I heard my PA knock on the door. "Sir, Ms. Sheela is here for the meeting," he informed me. I nodded and allowed her to enter. Ms. Sheela was the one responsible for the substantial project we were working on. She was a young and talented professional, earning my respect.
The meeting progressed smoothly, and as it concluded, Sheela stood up, giving me a hug. Just as I was about to respond, the door to my cabin swung open, and there was my adorable angel, walking towards me with an unmistakable look of anger on her face. She was incredibly cute, and I couldn't help but smile.
She looked at me with an angry pout, and I sensed that trouble was brewing. I quickly side-hugged Ms. Sheela, and Adhya observed us with a suspicious gaze. It was best to introduce them before anything got misconstrued.
"Angel, this is Ms. Sheela, the head of the big project," I explained. "Ms. Sheela, meet Adhya Chauhan, my girlfriend."
Adhya turned to Ms. Sheela with a fake smile and extended her hand, saying, "Nice to meet you."
To my surprise, Ms. Sheela recognized Adhya and exclaimed, "Oh, I remember you! You're the New York time's number one writer this year. I've read all your books, and they're amazing." Adhya's smile this time was genuine, and she graciously thanked Ms. Sheela, who even asked for her autograph.
As Ms. Sheela left the cabin, my lunch break arrived. Adhya turned to me with a glare, and I couldn't help but wonder what I had done wrong this time. She pointed a finger at me and accused, "Abhimanyu Raichand, you cheated on me!"
I raised my eyebrows in confusion, exclaiming, "What the hell?"
Adhya continued to give me a stern look, convinced that I had crossed some invisible line by hugging Ms. Sheela. She even came closer and sniffed my coat, declaring, "See, her scent is on you!"
I shook my head in disbelief, thinking, 'Oh my God, when did she become this possessive?'
I attempted to explain, cupping her face gently. "Angel, that was a professional hug, just for the company."
But she pushed my hand away and said, "Don't touch me. I brought you lunch. And don't forget about the party in the evening. Don't be late."
Without looking back, she left the room. I called after her, but she didn't respond. Adhya had changed a lot in these two years, becoming more bold and daring. I couldn't help but wonder what kind of punishment or surprise she had in store for me.
Sighing, I returned to my work. Today marked the 50th anniversary of our company, and we were having a party at home. Many company partners would attend, but most importantly, my grandparents would be there. Adhya had been ecstatic to learn that Dhada and Dhadi were coming.
As I was working, I heard a knock on my office door. Frustrated, I looked up, knowing I already had a pile of paperwork to tackle. I shouted, "What the heck do you want?" Sid entered my office, looking quite scared. He said, "Bhai, Di asked us to come home now."
I shook my head, glancing at the time. It was 6 o'clock, and the party was scheduled to start at 7. I told Sid and the others to go ahead, assuring them I would join them at the party. I motioned for him to leave. But Sid just stood there, not moving.
