Abhi POV:
It's already been 4 years now. Nak is 8 years old, and Ansh is 6 years old. As I went to tuck them in bed I heard them asking Adhya's mom for the love story of mine and Adhya's. I chuckled, going into my room. Adhya closed the laptop, stretching. As I chuckled, going to her, I said, "Your mom is telling the kids our love story."
She shouted, "What?" I placed a hand on her mouth and said, "Shh, angel. They wanted to know our journey. Let them." She nodded as we went to the balcony, hand in hand. She placed her head on my shoulder, sighing. She said, "What a journey it has been, Maan. We've had our fair share of laughter, tears, anger, fights—everything except a heartbreak."
I lifted her chin, saying, "No matter what, that's the only thing we won't face in this lifetime, angel." She chuckled, saying, "I know, Maan." She plucked a white hair from my head, saying, "You're getting old, Maan." I lifted her up, saying, "Oh, let me show you how old I am." She chuckled, saying, "Maan, sorry, sorry, put me down." I didn't as we went on all night.
Next day when I came home, Adhya was folding clothes, and all of the kids were shouting. Sravani gave birth to twin boys, they are Rohith Chauhan and Roshan Chauhan. Sid has a baby girl, she is Vaishnavi. Akkash and Anandh recently got married, making the house lively once again. Sravani was trying to catch the kids, all of my brothers closed their ears for the noise.
Dad and Surya Chachu were the happiest ones playing with their grandchildren. Priya maa and Adhya's mom were enjoying the sight of kids playing. Anandh sat beside Adhya, helping her, and Ansh was on the other side, talking to her, which made her smile, and Fluffly was sitting near her legs. No matter what changes, her kids will remain the mama's boys forever.
Noticing me, all the kids ran to me. Nakshu came calling me papa, and others came calling me chachu. I bent down to their level and took out chocolates from my pocket. They all happily jumped, taking chocolates. As I went to give one to Ansh, he took it, saying thanks, dad. Well, I must agree that he is exactly like me. He will talk with that kind of tone to everyone, even me. But when it comes to his mumma, he becomes a total softie.
Anandh asked, "Bhai, where is mine?" I lifted my hands in the air as he pouted, turning to Adhya "Di, Where is mine?" I asked, "Kiddo, you know you got married, right?" He shrugged, saying, "So what? I am always a kid to her, aren't I, di?" He asked her, and Adhya nodded, taking out a chocolate from her pocket, she gave it to him.
Ah, people! Why does everyone in the house want my angel's attention? As Dad came calling "princess," Adhya turned, asking, "Yes, papa, is there something you need?" Nakshu also turned to me, asking, "Did you call me, papa?" I shook my head as I told my dad, "Dad, stop calling her princess. She is a mother of two now, and look, there are two more princesses in this house."
My dad folded his hands, saying, "Then stop calling her angel." I asked, "How are they both related, Dad? She is my wife, and also there are no other angel's in this home." He shrugged, saying, "She is my daughter." Adhya chuckled as Rohan bhai came, calling, "Princess, shall we eat dinner?"
Adhya nodded as Nakshu turned to me again, asking, "Did you call me, papa?" I shook my head as I lifted her up. I turned to Rohan bhai, saying, "Bhai, at least you stop calling her that." All my brothers came in, saying, "You change another name for her because adhya is our princess. She will always remain the one." I sighed, raising my hands in the air, and said, "Okay, fine." I turned to Nakshu and said, "I will call you 'star' from today, Nak. Is that fine?" She laughed and nodded, saying, "Okay, papa."
As all the kids are tucked in, all the elders went to their rooms, and finally, all of us let out a sigh as we all went to watch a movie in the garden. It's been so long since we had this siblings time. All of us sat there in pairs. Adhya sat on me as I hugged her from the back. Adhya and Sid argued for the movie, and they both came to a decision and played our photos and videos taken since we were born. Anandh and Akkash showed these pictures to their wives, whereas Adhya and I went back in time.
We saw the birthdays we celebrated together, the time in school when she got bullied, the time when she went to another place for studying, the time when everything felt wrong, the time when she stood as a pillar for me, the time when she took the hit on behalf of me, the time she proposed to me, our marriage, getting pregnant. We have come a long way.
As all the pictures came to an end, everyone had tears in their eyes. Everyone came to Adhya, hugging her because she has been the sunshine in everyone's lives. She truly made everyone's life better. Finally, she came into my arms, the place where she belongs for eternity. I placed a kiss on her forehead, and she smiled. That smile made me fall for her even more. Everyone went back to their rooms.
Next day, after the office, I went home. All the kids were in the living room, and Adhya was talking to them. Nakshu said, "Maa, 3 boys invited me, you know," with pride. Ansh quickly said, "Mumma, please don't allow it." All of my brothers were sitting there, laughing. For once in my life, I agreed with Ansh.
I went inside, asking, "For what did they invite you, Star?" She stood near Adhya, saying, "Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, papa." Ansh said, "Dad, I will break their bones. Tell her she is not allowed." Adhya said, "Ansh, it is her decision. You should not be this overprotective brother, okay? Let her do anything she wants, support her, okay?" He nodded.
As Adhya looked at me, I shook my head, saying, "No, Star. Everyone out there will break your heart. You're not allowed." Adhya pushed me, saying, "Oh, come on, Maan." Nakshu came hugging me and giving me the puppy eyes, which exactly reminded me of Angel. I sighed, saying, "Okay, fine. But let me meet them first." She whined but reluctantly agreed.
After dinner, I tucked Nak in as Adhya tucked Ansh in. We went to our room, and I asked, "Angel, is Nak going to be fine?" She chuckled, saying, "Maan, she is just a kid. Let her enjoy this phase, and also, this is going to happen inside school, so there will be teachers and also, you are meeting them beforehand aren't you?."
I sighed, sitting on the bed. Adhya went inside the closet, and I followed her, asking, "They are growing up so fast, Angel." She giggled, saying, "Then you want them to stay like this forever?" I nodded, to which she shook her head, pushing me as she went to the bedroom again, making the bed for sleep.
As I looked at her, even she had grown a lot—from a girl who never woke up without seeing me, a girl who always made a fuss over arranging things, a girl who always followed me, to a girl who followed her dreams, to a woman who stood beside me facing all the troubles, and now, to a mother who manages everything on her own.
She pushed me, asking, "Maan, you are staring, what is wrong?" I shook my head, saying, "Nothing, Angel. I just think you've also grown so much." She chuckled, saying, "And did you realize that now?" I nodded as she went to the closet and came back with a sheet.
She tripped a little, which caused her to fall, and I went to catch her. We both laughed as she said, "No matter how much older I get, I guess I will still fall for you, Maan." I chuckled kissing her forehead, said, "And I will always keep my promise, Angel."
She nodded, saying, "My first love's promise became our first love's promise, Maan. I am so happy that I walked in this long journey with you."
She hugged me, and I sighed in content, as my heart listened to my heartbeat, which always beats for her.
She said, "I lobe you, Maan." I smiled, saying, "I lobe you forever and always, my queen."
