"Garcia!" I sighed, standing up and walking over to the receptionists desk. The loud smacking of her gum made me want to leave immediately. "You Garcia?"

I frowned, "I'm here aren't I?"

"Don't get cute. Your PO is ready to see you. Here, put on this name sticker and she'll be waiting for you on the third floor."

"Gee thanks," I mumbled as she slid a sticker across the counter. "Where's the elevator located?"

"Jesus Christ, do I have to do everything for you?"

I opened my mouth to spew out an insult but the beefy security guard that stood beside her desk gave me second thoughts.

"I'll find it myself."

My legs felt like bricks as I walked around the first floor trying to find the elevator. Today was the day I met up with my parole officer to discuss the terms of my release.

Since I won my appeal, I was released early but I'm still at risk of being sent back to prison at any point in time to serve my full sentence if I fucked up in any way.

I wasn't scared of going back or anything, but I was anxious as to who might be my PO. I've heard good and bad things from the officers that worked in this particular building so I'm not too excited to see who they assigned me to.

After I hopped on a nearby elevator, I went up to the third floor and quickly searched for the room I was designated to. This floor was filled with different offices so I wasn't trying to be caught looking around for too much longer.

"You looking for someone?" I frowned, turning around to face this gorgeous woman with glistening brown skin who was a little taller than me. Damn.

"Uh, yeah. Yeah I'm looking for room three-eighteen."

"Oh, you'll find her down here at the end of the hall. Follow me."

We started our walk to the other side of the floor and I couldn't help but watch her hips sway slightly as we approached another set of offices.

"Alright, she's right in here. Let me know if you need anything else."

"Thanks," I smiled.

"No problem. Have a great day-"

"Maya. My name's Maya."

"Maya. Well you have a great day Maya."

"You too....."

"Oh you don't need my name honey."

"Why not?"

"Because, if you're going to room three-eighteen, you're not the type of woman I need in my life." She stated before turning on her heels and walking away.

Well damn. What's wrong with room three-eighteen?

I knocked on the office door in front of me three times before slowly opening it. The office was quite large but that wasn't the part that almost caused me to jump out of my skin.

"Maya Garcia. What a pleasant surprise it is to see you."

The gulp of air I had previously tried to take was seemingly caught in my throat and I was on the verge of losing oxygen to my brain. Oh how I wish I could lose oxygen to my brain right now.

"You have got to be fucking kidding me right now. Please tell me you're not my damn parole officer."

"Aht aht aht, language like that won't be tolerated in this office. This is a friendly environment."
