It had been a few days since I had helped Tara at the clubhouse and it was my day off again, although Tara was at work I was on my way to Teller Morrow.

My car was making a horrible ticking noise and I couldn't stand it anymore.

I climb out of my car sighing the parking lot was relatively empty apart from four bikes and a few cars I walk towards Gemma's office seeing her leaning in the doorway waiting for me "what brings you back to the dark side of town?" She asks as I approach giving her a small smile "my car needs some love" she rolls her eyes "you mean that death trap on wheels?"  I laugh shaking my head "leave her alone she's got soul" Gemma scoffed "her soul is broken baby you need an upgrade" she walks towards the garage and calls out "Tiggy get your arse in here" I hear a tool drop and a guy with black curly hair and piercing blue eyes walks out looking at me slowly checking me out making me roll my eyes and Gemma chuckle before he looks at Gemma "what's up mamma?" She nods to me "her car is a piece of shit take a look at it for me will you?" I scoff "it just needs some love"and Gemma laughs at me "sure baby whatever you say" and Tig nods "of course I can take a look at it for you" Gemma takes the keys out of my hand giving them to him before dragging me away "let's go get a drink hmm?"

I sat at the bar with Gemma and Piney "prospect get us a beer" she says and I frown "Gemma it's midday" she raises an eyebrow at me and I sigh "fine make mine a whisky" I surrender and Piney chuckles patting me on my back "I knew I like you for a reason kid" I smirk and a young boy brings the drinks over to us before going back to cleaning the bar "so you've never come here without Tara, what brings you here?" Piney asks and Gemma laughs "her rust bucket is finally dying on her" I sigh "it's vintage" she smirks lighting a cigarette "so now I can pick that pretty little head of yours now that your alone" I frown sipping the whisky feeling slightly nervous "god now I see the reason for the drink" she smiles and begins her attack "so what made you move here last year?" My heart shuddered the first question was already the worst one I frown downing my entire drink before looking at her "it was time for a change of scenery.... I had a bad breakup and it was time to move on" she frowns "bad break up?" I bite my lip looking away "I fell in love with my boss" she sucks in a breath "oh" I look down at my hands before looking back at her "it just got to complicated and he couldn't seperate work from home" she nods and I sigh feeling awkward and Gemma smirks "were you the heart breaker?" I smile softly as Piney refills my glass from the bottle of whiskey he was nursing "possibly"

The next day I had work and it was your typical filling out patient files kind of day I sigh sipping my coffee as I hear a knock on the door "come in" I continue typing on my laptop not looking at the guest in the room "Hey Katey" I smile and look up seeing Margret "Afternoon Margret" she smiles "may I take a seat?" I nod and gesture to the seat across from me closing the laptop "what can I do for you?" Margret was an odd woman and sometimes I questioned how the hospital was so successful under her authority.

At my previous hospital in Los Angeles we had a system for everything and St Thomas was completely different and at times chaotic.

"I just wanted to congratulate you on your recent surgery, Dr Namid says you had complete control over the entire situation and I wanted to thank you" I frown "oh Margret Dr Namid is being a gentleman, I honestly didn't do much" she shakes her head "no you did and I wanted to offer you a promotion of lead Surgeon alongside Tara and Dr Namid you will be in line with them" my heart stopped and I grin "really?" She nods and I jump out of my seat rushing around my desk and hugging her "thank you so much Margret" she laughs patting my back "you deserve it"  she gets up and leaves my office and I lean back in my chair feeling excited I wanted to be a lead surgeon in L.A but after one bad operation gone wrong  my ex thought that I wasn't mentally ready. I smirk at the fact that someone had finally seen my skills and I could prove Robert wrong.
