And as planned I was staying with Andrew. I bounce on my heels in anticipation as I knock on the door "Are you sure he won't mind me staying?" Tara asks for the millionth time as I roll my eyes playfully "T it's fine" the door swings open and I grin jumping onto my brother "Drew" hey laughs happily "about time girl I thought you got lost in the baggage claim" he jokes as we pull away I grin "Andrew this is my friend Tara, T this is my older dumber brother " he scoffs at me and smiles at Tara "nice to meet you, now get your bags girls you guys have two hours till dinner.. my treat" I grab my suite case and motion to Tara to follow as she looks around in awe.

"Y'all are fine sharing the guest room right?" Drew asks and I nod smiling the guest bedroom was basically mine when I still lived with mum and dad as a teenager "home sweet home" I say happily dragging a still shocked Tara to the bedroom to get ready shoving her in as I shut the door behind us "you can stop catching flies now" her mouth snapped shut and she composed herself "Katey this house is so nice I didn't realise your family had this kind of money" I nod as I open my suite case looking for a dress for Tara "my father was a very strict man but he was strict because he wanted us to work for our money... drew owned his first house at the age of 18... he signed the papers on his birthday actually" I smile softly at the memory "I bought my first apartment when I was 17 it was so cute I'll show you if we have time while we're here" I spot a nice royal blue dress that will be prefect for Tara "here put this on" I say handing it to her and she frowns "wait what .. I thought he said dinner" I sigh softly nodding "yeah ... he did and by that he meant were meeting up with my family at a rich person restaurant so we are going to dress to impress" her eyes widen "Katey ... Jax would kill me" I laugh shaking my head "no Tara .. to impress my parents, my mother thinks I'm living in poverty and that I'm falling apart we are going to show her that we are strong independent women" her face lights up and she nods clicking on "how should I wear my hair?"
When we are ready we stare at ourselves in the mirror "I don't even recognise myself" Tara whispers making me smile at her in the mirror "tonight you're not a wife and mother Tara ... tonight your a successful surgeon dining in upper class L.A" she grins excitedly buying her lip at Andrew knocks on the doors "Girls the car is here!" I take one last look at myself in the mirror and smile at my choice of a sexy sophisticated black dress matched with my red lipstick "coming"
As we drive Tara stares out the window at everything passing by "soo..." I say slowly nudging my brother as the driver took us to dinner "any surprises I should know about?" He sighs and looks at me giving me a guilty look yet said nothing "something you should know ... yes" he nods and I stare waiting.
And waiting
And waiting
I look at Tara and she slowly looks at me before looking back out the window showing me that she was in fact paying attention.
"Andrew?" I ask slowly
He sighs "something I can tell you about ... no" I glare at him and he sighs "look .. you know mum" I suddenly feel sick ugh this is another one of my mothers attempts to try and pull me back to L.A "whatever .. don't except me to not act like a spoiled rich kid when she tries to pull something" he grins "Katey it wouldn't be a family dinner without a show" I huff crossing my arms instantly regretting telling Tara to stay with me.
When I was packing two nights ago Tara had called and mentioned that Jax was worried about her travelling alone and I told her to stay with me at Andrew's thinking the problem would be solved. I was wrong, now there's a new issue...
My mother
Andrew sighs "look Katey I'm sorry I honestly did try to stop this" I nod and sadly smiled "I know Drew" the car stops and I get out feeling suffocated in the small car cabin I look at the restaurant and feel like letting the world swallow me up "Andrew" I feel him grab my hand rubbing it "come in when your ready" I stare at the restaurant in horror as my bestfriend slowly climbs out of the car "are you okay Katey?" I could feel the awkwardness radiating off her .. she had no clue what was happening .
I knew what was happening.
It was a trap to get me to return to my old life
I shake my head and look at her I had a thousand things I wanted to say
Go away Please don't come in I'm sorry I told you to stay with me My mother is crazy I'm crazy I understand if my family is completely weird and your completely confused
But I could only say one thing "don't make me do this alone"
