Venus jumped as she looked at Gohan, who had just moved to stand between her and Krillin. Gohan froze, his heart beginning to race quickly. Her eyes widened as she looked between Gohan and Goku.
Goku jumped on the cliff, standing in front of everyone, "You're up for this? Right?"
Gohan looked up at his father, "Me? Take him on-" he gasped. "This is madness Goku! You're pitting him against a foe even you couldn't beat!" Piccolo raised his voice.
"Listen, trust me. Gohan has a power within him that's greater than anything you could possibly imagine."
"Have you lost your mind Kakarot? Venus and Trunks are clearly stronger than Gohan and even I wouldn't put them up against the likes of Cell!" Vegeta stepped forward as he yelled at Goku.
He crossed his arms, "Why are you trying to get your own son killed?"
"He won't be killed, he's ready," Goku responded, stepping closer to Gohan. Gohan looked up at him with his mouth open.
"I need you to go out there and win this for us, and then we can all go back home," Goku placed his hands on Gohan's shoulders as he stood back up.
"Okay dad, I'll do it."
Gohan took off his armor, throwing it on the ground in front of him. He flew over to Cell, glaring at him with a frown.
Venus exhaled the breath she didn't know she was holding in. Her heart began to race, hoping what Goku was saying was true.
"Krillin, I'll have one of those senzu beans now," Goku turned his head. Krillin jumped and grabbed the bag in his pocket, "Um, yeah," he placed the bean in Goku's palm.
"Thanks," Goku looked over at Gohan and Cell, "Hey Cell!" he tossed the bean at Cell and he caught it with his left hand.
Venus widened her eyes, popping them out, she snapped her head in Goku's direction, "What are you doing?!" she raised her voice.
Krillin clenched his fists, "Yeah! Is your brain on vacation?! Why the hell did you do that?!"
"Hey take it easy guys. Cell's used up a lot of energy. It's only fair for him to fight Gohan at full strength!"
"Fair?! Your son's life and the fate of the world is at stake and you're trying to play fair?!" Venus yelled at him before looking back at Gohan.
"Goku are you hearing yourself talk?" Yamcha shrieked as his voice cracked from the disbelief.
Cell chewed on the bean and swallowed, roaring as he increased his energy. Gohan frowned and did the same, causing the wind to blow heavily and lightning to form.
