Chapter 6 "Discovery & Death"

A/N: Hello everyone! I hope you guys are enjoying the book! I will be writing one more chapter before heading back to Lucent Eyes. This chapter might be a very long chapter so yay! This will also be the chapter where both sides will finally connect and intertwine. This is actually the longest chapter in the book so far. Usually I try to write 5k words but don’t expect me to write up to 6k, it just makes it longer for me to publish chapters. But this was a special case. Anyways, enjoy!

Recap: For the resisting Lucent Hive. Alak-Hul sends out fireteams to attack the path towards the Fluorescent Canal, this will result in a Scorn invasion that was pushed back by Dul’Noh. The plan to lure out the high ranking.

Juliana-10 and Helton would prevent a Scorn superweapon from going off before contacting Fynch who tells them about a recent skirmish in the Miasma swamps. The two would begin making their way to the Miasma with hopes of killing one of the council members and ruining one of Oryx’s tithes.

As for the Lucent King, he begins practicing his Light, testing his capabilities. He would then meet with Šimmumah who informs him of the acquisition of Hive Ghosts. Oryx would watch as Fekrul is resurrected and vows to serve him, he would then be met with Dul’Noh who informs him about the Scorn invasion. Dul’Noh would be assigned to watch over the Miasma with Priznoth secretly watching over him.

[Interrogation Cell | Tower, Last City]

Hidden Agents surrounded the room on all sides. In the middle was a table, where a woman clad in a white intricately designed robe sat on one of the chairs, her arms cuffed as she looked to Ikora Rey. She had short brown hair and white markings beneath her eyes. She had a collar of feathers and cloth wrapped around her upper torso and neck, while her helmet very reminiscent of a bird laid on the table.

It was Khan, the last member needed to fully assemble the surviving members of the fireteam. Ikora Rey would bring a seat out for herself as she looked at Khan before greeting her, “It's good to see you again Khan. Though I wished we met under better circumstances then this…”

The Warlock Vanguard would recall the capture of Khan on Neomuna, the fact that she was able to get there without the Vanguard noticing was a good reminder that they needed more checking when it comes to deployment. Ikora continued speaking, “I see that you’re…more confident than before.”

Khan stayed silent before speaking, her voice bored and frustrated, “Yeah, I was a mumbling mess when we came back from killing Oryx, I know.” the Warlock would scoot her chair closer to the table before looking at Ikora right in the eyes, “Now why am I here? Last time I checked, you guys promised to leave me alone to rot in the Last City.”
