Weeks had passed since Beacon Academy started their classes for this year and Team RVER was still handling their classes how they used to, except they had gone more in-depth in certain topics compared to their first year for the general classes.
This year, Rinni and Everet shared the same class in Weapon Crafting and Upkeep, Violet was learning Military Strategy, and Rhys had taken Stealth and Security. The two partners walked towards their class after bidding farewell to their other teammates after their class in Grimm Studies.
"I'm thinking of upgrading my weapon." Rinni uttered
"Really? I mean don't get me wrong that's good and all but what inspired you to do that?"
"Velvet. I mean, Coco told us that Velvet was working on her weapon. She wouldn't tell us any more details."
"Yeah, I think Velvet will be the one to explain what she's working on way better."
"Yup, her weapon is a good combo to her semblance Velvet, making her an unstoppable force."
"You can say that again. I remember she kicked your ass when we sparred with them."
"Dude, it wasn't just me who she beat, Rhys too. Like seriously, Velvet is a powerhouse, we're lucky she's nice"
"Yeah, anyway, what upgrade are you thinking about for your weapon?"
"It's kind of a hassle to have a quiver and have to reload a bolt every time I fire so I might upgrade it to have like a magazine for my bolts. I'm thinking a capacity of 3 to 6."
"You'd have to make a quick reloader for it, but it does beat having to reload one at a time.." Everet mentioned
"Rhys can shoot multiple arrows now if he wanted to, so having a reloader and magazine for my bolts will kinda give me that essence."
They suddenly heard a familiar voice in distress and then laughing. They rushed to where it came from and the two saw Velvet surrounded by a group of first years.
"Hey! What do you guys think you're doing?" Rinni asked as she approached them
"Nothing, just messing around" said a burnt orange-haired first-year nonchalantly
"Messing around? It looked like you were bullying Velvet" Everet uttered causing the same first-year to scoff
"Rinni, Everet it's fine, they didn't mean it" Velvet uttered hiding behind the two
"Didn't mean it? Velvet you gotta be kidding right?" Rinni asked
"Yeah, just listen to her. We were just messing around"
"Fine. Just don't mess around with Velvet. If you're going to mess around just do it by yourselves." Rinni uttered clearly angry
"I get why you're protecting them. It is easier to train an animal after all"
"What's your name?" Rinni asked calmly causing Everet and Velvet to tense in the shift of her tone
"Cardin Winchester. Leader of Team CRDL."
"Right... Never ever, and I mean ever, call any faunus an animal or animals ever again. I won't be merciful then. And you're lucky that Velvet doesn't like to fight other people."
"What she could have done? Cry?" Cardin said and the rest of his team laughed
Rinni cracked her neck before punching Cardin hard. The rest of Team CRDL, Everet, and Velvet's eyes widened upon seeing Cardin's aura immediately shatter. Rinni's punch caused Cardin to collide with a wall leaving small cracks on impact and an unconscious Cardin Winchester.
"Listen here, if I could do that, Velvet can do worse. Get out of here." Rinni uttered
Cardin's teammates immediately picked him up and ran away. Everet and Velvet turned to Rinni.
"You didn't have to do that you know" Velvet said
"Especially using your semblance. What would have happened if he didn't have his aura?" Everet questioned
"I know, but I just...get a little triggered. You both know I was raised by faunus so it hits home."
"Still, you didn't need to do that. Rinni I appreciate you for helping me but it didn't have to end like that" Velvet argued
"Again, I know, and I'm sorry."
"Right, well, we gotta head to our class, see you around Velvet?" Everet interjected
"Yeah sure, see you two later"
The three went their separate ways, with Velvet going to her class and Rinni and Everet going to theirs.
"I just hope Violet doesn't hear about what happened earlier."
"Please don't. I know I'm gonna get an earful from her if she finds out."
"Not just an earful, she'll kick your ass when we're gonna spar later."
"Yeah, or I might beat her again. I mean when it comes to one-on-one we're tied in winnings honestly."
"I kinda forgot about that."
"We should probably hurry, we're already late so we're already in trouble really."
Rinni and Everet decided to run to their class but before they could step in they were called to Professor Ozpin's office, along with their other teammates.
"You're screwed."
"Shut it."
