"Ladies and gentlemen welcome to our third match of the first round of the 40th Vytal Festival! Team RVER from Beacon versus Team AZUL of Haven!" Professor Peter Port announced
"Both formidable teams from each academy. I have personally worked with Team RVER before and I will say they are a rather unpredictable bunch of students." Doctor Bartholomew Oobleck added
"Let's see what they get!" the arena began to randomize what biome both teams would get
Team RVER stood on one side, patiently waiting. Suddenly, behind them, the desert biome appeared. The geyser biome appeared behind Team AZUL afterward.
"Dessert and Geysers, an interesting biome choice."
"Indeed it is. Now, begin!"
Rinni Bellereve and Rhys Carlson took this chance to send a volley of arrows and bolts to the enemy team. In this distraction, Everet Exley took the chance to draw and summon a few Ursa Major. The said beast roared as it charged. Azura Yuuki and her teammate, Zane Oak, decided to counter and attack the fake grimm
Lapiz O'moore from Team AZUL used her semblance, causing her to phase out of the material world, and make her way to the desert biome behind Team RVER. She took her place on top of a sand dune and used the sniper rifle function of her weapon to begin shooting at both Rhys and Rinni. Upon hearing her teammates yelp in pain, Violet Edola used her semblance to protect her leader and partner.
Umbra Fiore noticed this and decided to help out her teammates by using the shadows of Team RVER to create a mist surrounding them. Lapiz took this chance to use her semblance and began to deliver strikes toward Team RVER. Rhys took the chance to use his semblance and ran around, clearing some of the mist. Rinni and her teammates took this chance and separated.
Rinni decided to charge at Azura, seeing as she was aware of how the opponent team leader fights. Violet transformed her spear into an assault rifle and began to fire at Umbra, while Everet decided to charge at Zane, leaving Rhys to fight Lapiz.
Zane and Everet clashed weapons, the former blocking attacks from the latter. Everet eventually managed to land what he believed was a powerful hit.
"And Everet Exley lands a hit on Zane Oak! But what's this?! His aura didn't go down!"
"That must be his semblance in play. Mr. Oak has the semblance of invulnerability but once it's done so is his aura."
Everet growled and continued to attack. Meanwhile Violet decided to charge at Umbra, causing the other teen to be ready. Using her ax, Umbra blocked the spear, but that proved to be useless. It seemed like they forgot that Rinni used an ax as Violet quickly defeated Umbra.
"And Umbra Fiore is out via aura level!" this caused the crowd to cheer loudly
Violet decided to help out with Rhys, and the two double-teamed Lapiz. Rhys used his staff and semblance to deal quick attacks while Violet used her semblance to protect her partner and deal some damage using her assault rifle mode. The two had managed to knock her out but with the cost of losing Violet in the fighting field.
"Lapiz O'moore and Violet Edola are both out! One being a knockout while the other is aura levels!"
"Looks like it's also times up for Zane Oak and he is done!"
It was now a 3 versus 1. Everet and Rhys ran to their leader to assist her. The three attacked Team AZUL's leader, who used this chance and activated her semblance. An 11-hit combo was shared between the three, causing both Everet and Rhys to be out of the fight via aura levels. Rinni was dangerously close to being eliminated as well.
Azura's aura level was still yellow, but that doesn't mean Rinni couldn't do it. Rinni used her crossbow and fired a combustion bolt. Azura dodged as the previous area she stood burst into flames. Unlucky for her, she landed on a geyser that suddenly went off. Her aura levels were now the same as Rinni's. Azura while in the air transformed her weapon into its gun form and shot, causing her trajectory to be changed. She once again transformed her weapon and pointed it at Rinni, who parried her attack.
Rinni suddenly felt like she was kicked before she felt multiple hits on her body, causing her to fall. The buzzer went off as the cheers of the crowd became deafening.
"And Rinni Bellereve is out of aura! The winners are Team AZUL!"
