EPILOGUE

(AUTHOR'S NOTE: I apologize for not publishing this earlier. I thought I had published this way back then. If I did and accidentally deleted it, I am still sorry.)

It has been some time since the twins were ordered to head to Vacuo by the Headmistress of Beacon, Professor Glynda Goodwitch. Their mission was to make sure to assist Shade Academy in protecting the Relic of Destruction. They were aware of their peers attending the said academy so they had some excitement to see familiar faces. The two would change depending on who was in charge of driving, sometimes stopping at a town they came across or somewhere in the woods. Rinni was currently on the wheel as Rhys slept, she noticed the trees around them began to dwindle. She stopped the truck, which woke up her twin. Rhys looked at her and signed.

"Nothing's wrong, I noticed that we're almost out of the woods and I just wanted to check what's ahead." Rhys nodded and brought out two pairs of binoculars from the glove compartment.

He handed one to Rinni who took it. They nodded to each other and got out. Rinni climbed on top of the truck while Rhys climbed a tree. On the horizon, they could see nothing but a wasteland of sand.

"Desserts' up ahead. We're gonna be in the kingdom of Vacuo soon. It will probably take us about a week or so of driving before we can reach the city."

Rhys jumped down and landed near the truck just as Rinni got down from her own vantage point. The red-eyed twin began to sign to his teammate, leader, and sister.

"Yeah, you're right. I'll always take the first watch, you know I have a hard time going back to sleep if you wake me up."

Rhys nodded before Rinni handed Rhys her binoculars as she unlocked the truck. Rhys quickly ran to the passenger side and got in as his sister was. The engine started and they began to drive. The two traveled in the desert, encountering grimm they never had before, from the beetle grimm to the infamous blind worm. They had a close call with that one, and if it weren't for local huntsmen helping them and teaching them about it... Well, let's just say they wouldn't have made it.

They were on the sixth day of their trip when they saw some people ahead and they were battling some grimm. It also seemed that a blind worm was nearing them.

"Rhys..."

The male nodded as he grabbed his weapon and his quiver, loading a red crystal into the grip. Rinni pressed her foot on the gas causing the truck to accelerate as her brother opened the sunroof of the truck and fired, sending a beam of red fire at a pack of ravegers.

"Jump!"

Rhys jumped just as Rinni suddenly pressed her foot on the break of the truck, steering to the side to help her slow down. Sand got thrown as the truck stopped, only for it to back up and hit the beetle. Rinni maneuvered the truck to turn, causing her to hit a few more grimm. She grabbed her weapon, transforming into a crossbow before she kicked the truck's door open after pulling the handle. The door collided with a jackalope, before it turned to dust as a bolt went through its head.

"Please don't be gross." She mumbled

Rinni grabbed hold of a jackalope and dragged it so that its head was on the door frame before she slammed it shut. Luckily there was no trace of the jackalope on the door. She transformed her weapon into an ax and threw it at a raveger that was about to attack a blonde-haired girl, it hit the head of the grimm, causing it to disappear. Rhys went to his sister while using his semblance before grabbing her hand and using his momentum and strength, he threw her at blind worm that appeared. With her semblance, Rinni punched the worm, turning it to dust while Rhys ran to grab his sister's weapon. Upon landing, Rinni caught the weapon that Rhys threw at her. She chopped off another raveger's head and sliced a jackalope before transforming it into a crossbow again and firing at the upcoming grimm.
