It was finally the end of the first day. Aera and Elijah were picked up by Armani since Jimin wouldn't get done with work until later that evening.

Aera was more than happy to tell her how her first day went, while Elijah was practically silent the entire ride. Mani tried to push him a bit to talk, but he only replied rather shortly and blunt.

What was there to say?

He wasn't just gonna tell her how he didn't make not one friend, sat alone at lunch, and didn't talk at all during his classes. He would feel embarrassed.

Aera glanced at her brother from time to time, seeing he was looking out the window with his headphones in. She could see the anxiety and sadness written all over the boys face, he just tried not to show it.

She looked down, putting her hand on top of his gently. He glanced at her as she did, his eyes glossy and begging to set the tears free.

She grinned, wiping the little tear that fell from his eye.

She knew he didn't have a good first day, anyone could tell from a mile away.

"It's gonna be okay", she mouthed to him, seeing him nod a bit. He laid his head onto her shoulder, finding even her scent comfortable and safe.

Once they reached the house, Elijah went straight to his room. Armani sighed worryingly, knowing something like this would happen. She felt that even with her comforting words, the boy would barely survive his first day of high school.

"He just needs some space mama, don't worry", Aera spoke.

"I know", she sighed once more. I just had this feeling all morning that it wouldn't go that well for him, I don't even know if he should go tomorrow".

Aera brought her mama into a hug, knowing she needed it. She felt guilt lying heavy on her chest, wishing this process was going a lot easier with her little brother.

But, maybe with space it would get better.

Evening rolled around after some time and Armani was making dinner. She was making Elijah's favorite; white rice and dumplings. Of course she added her special touch but nonetheless hoped it would cheer him up.

Armani heard the front door unlock from the outside, Jimin walking inside.

"Honey I'm home", he teased with a little smirk as he toke off his jacket.

"Hey baby", Mani chuckled, greeting the man with a sweet kiss. "How was work?".

"It was good, we were helping Jada with gun training. But damn, you would've thought she was already in a gang", he joked, making the girl laugh. Jada did have past experience with a gun, her mama taught her how to use one before she moved out of the house.

"Did the kids first day go okay?", when Jimin asked and saw the small change in his wife's expressions, he had his answer.

"It didn't go well for him did it?", he questioned softly, seeing her shake her head sadly.

He sighed, rubbing her back as she placed food on everyone's plates.

"Should we try and talk to him about it? I feel like that always works with Aera".
