Gilly

(TW~ Abuse, drinking)

It had been just over a day since Gilly had read the horrid letter. The letter that led for everything else to go by in a blur.

Her mother was dead.

Who was going to take care of her siblings?

Who was going to help feed the kids and make them their meals?

Gilly knew one thing and one thing only; Her father was going to take it out on someone.

All she could hope for was that he took it out on her.

Gilly always felt like she was a slight disappointment to her family. After all, she'd been sentenced to Fairy Tale Reform school not once, but twice when she was younger.

Their group had split up from the past day. Gilly and Anna had traveled back to mourn with their family, Jax, Ollie, and Kayla had went back to Enchantasia to track down Gottie, and Heath, Devin, and Raina had all went to the Castle to attempt to learn what other villains could be threatening them.

When Gilly stepped into their boot, she couldn't help but shake a horrid, grotesque feeling from the air.

She held out a hand, forcing Anna to stay behind her as she called, "Trixie? Han? Hamish!"

Instead of a response, she heard a drunken voice call out, "What're you doing here?"

Gilly mentally cursed and turned to her sister, "Go find the kids, I'll deal with him."

Anna grabbed her sister's arm. "Do you know how dangerous he is when he's been drinking?"

Of course Gilly knew. She and Anna both had faced the consequences many times from it. Every time the business would fail, their father would use other methods to make him feel 'better'. Gilly had believed that the horrible habits of his died when she defeated Rumpelstiltskin.

As Anna made her way up the stairs, Gilly crept into the kitchen, finding her father clutching an empty glass bottle.

He turned to her with a vile look in his eyes. "You have no reason to be in my house. All you've ever done is destroy things."

Gilly felt herself shaking. He'd hurt her as punishment in the past, but never in a state like this.

"I'm sorry father, I didn't mean to-"

Her father turned to her quickly, it looked like he hadn't slept in a week. "Didn't mean to? Didn't mean to? She's dead because of you, because you have to get involved in every single thing in this wretched town."

It felt like she'd been punched. Worse, it felt like she'd been stabbed in the heart. "W-what do you mean?"

"She supposedly died from a mysterious illness." He said, jabbing a finger at her.

"I'm sorry, how would that be my fault?" Gilly asked, hating the way her voice quivered.

"Because even upon her dying breath, she was so focused on taking care of her children. You could have done something, you could've found a way to save her, but instead you were busy with your own selfish hobbies."

Gilly felt like she'd been stabbed in the heart. She'd heard enough from him. As long as Anna had her siblings safely out of the house, she knew all would be fine.

When she turned to leave, she heard something different from her father, "They were right about you, all your mother wanted in her dying breath was to say goodbye to you."

Gilly felt like crying hard while eating pattycakes. "I didn't know."

That was apparently the wrong thing to say since he threw the glass bottle.

Gilly happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. She knew that she was bleeding right after she'd turn away from him.

She needed to get out.

Where was out?

Her father needed help that she couldn't provide.

She couldn't help but think about the fact that she could never seem to please him.

He refused to let her attend one of Jax's balls because that would've been selfish of her to put herself before her family.

He practically disowned her after she went to fairy tale Reform School the second time.

He refused to get help when she and her entire family were on the brink of starvation.

These thoughts were what led for Gilly to turn and run out the door, not looking back.

"G-Gilly? Are you okay?" Gilly turned to see Trixie looking up at her with big eyes.

"Yes, I'm perfectly fine." She said with a smile, hugging her sister and holding her tightly.

She could not cry in front of her siblings. She had to be strong, for all of them.

"I missed you so much." Trixie wailed into her shoulder, "Papa isn't the same after mommy died."

"I know." Gilly said, rubbing calming circles on her back.

"What are we going to do Gilly?" Hamish asked her.

All of her siblings turned to her, waiting for her to give direction.

"Are you okay?" Anna asked, looking at the cuts on her.

"Yup, perfectly fine." Gilly said, putting on a fake smile. "I think we should go to Fairy Tale Reform School, that will probably be the safest place."

All of her siblings nodded, more than willing to follow Gilly.

She just had to be strong until they found peace.

She had to be strong for all of them.

A/N

Oooh that was a dark chapter.

Sorry I haven't updated in so long! My computer stopped working!

I hope you guys still like this story! Just let me know if things are getting too dark!

Daily question- Who are the best parents in FTRS?

I'd have to say Belle and Sebastian. I think that they took in most the kids, and acted as parental figures to all of them.

Bye for now!
