"Kyla, breakfast is ready. Come down now." Mom yelled.
To my excitement, I almost tripped my right foot at the stairs. Good thing I got good reflexes, and gripped on.
Today is my 19th birthday so I am expecting good vibes, happy faces, and a lot of scrumptious meals at the dining table. I am quite lucky to have wonderful foster parents like them. They always spoil me despite the fact that I'm not their real child. I realized how happy I am when I'm with them especially at the dining table. Which reminds me, will I have to leave them if my real father demands? I hope not.
As much as I was happy at home, it was quite lonesome at the mansion. I almost forgot that a day earlier was my mother's death, and today was Jack's.
There I was in his room, sketching his sad face. I could feel his sorrow every time he glances out the window pane.
"This feeling keeps on haunting me... almost two decades" He sighed.
I was thinking of what to say to cheer him up a bit, but why the heck did I ask, "Why isn't mother's ghost around?"
"What do you mean?" Jack asked back.
You dumb Kyla, why did you ask that? Of all questions?
Thinking of a goo d excuse, I said, "I mean, if she really loves you, and she's not in peace because of what my father's done, why isn't her ghost lurking around like you?"
For a moment, he closed his eyes, like he was thinking of what to say. "That's because she knows you're safe..."
"She saw me when I took her pendant and wrapped it around your wrist before she lost her breathe. She knew I was going to take care of you."
"You mean, she's at peace already?" I questioned. " I f you knew that, then , why aren't you at peace, as well? Is there something else you want to do?"
"I'm waiting for something , Kyla. I'm waiting for something to happen. You might be sad about it or happy but that moment is inevitable." He slowly looked to my direction until our eyes met, and said, "That day will come, my lady. Just you wait."
My charcoal suddenly broke as I heard those words from him. What could he possibly mean? My heartbeat pounded my chest so badly that gave me a bad feeling.

Another excerpt from Katherine's diary:
They all gave me their best wishes for having my child soon. But will I really have the best? Richard seems to get angrier than before and Jack...
I guess I've hurt him with what I've said to him earlier. There's no one here for me now...I feel so... LONELY.
While walking down the streets out the mansion, I've been reading this from my mother's diary. I could feel her pain... uhh... the agony...
FX: Car horns *beep beep*
" Ouch!" I screamed as some car almost hit me to death while I was day dreaming. I was tapping my butt then raised my head to see that.... OH NO! Its Karl's limo.
"Oh...sorry Kylz. Are you okay?" He asked with that very evil bully-voiced tone.
"Do I look okay?" I hissed.
He smirked with an evil-devilish smirk on his face. He went down on this limo and picked up something from the bushes.
"Is this yours?" He asked whilst holding my mother's diary.
"Oh yes, I must have dropped that." I answered.
"Dropped it or thrown it away?" He chuckled.
"You and your nerves" I replied and attempted to grab the diary from him.
Yet, his arms swished away and laid at his back, still holding the diary of my mother's precious secrets.
"Give it back Karl." I give a stare.
"Okay, I'll give it back." he said but rapidly went inside the limo. "..later."
Then... his limo was already running away from me...
Farther....
Farther...
NO WAY! He can't have that diary!
My jaw just fell almost to the ground thinking of how could I ever escape this mess.
