At 6 o'clock in the evening, we arrived at the carnival. There was a few people. Maybe because its within the weekdays. I never went to carnivals before. I never enjoyed going here but I can't say no to this jerk that I'm with right now.

"Let's try the haunted house" He said.

"Sure", I answered with no second thought. We both aren't scared of ghosts, anyway.

At the entrance, I already heard screams of the coward people inside. I bet this place is full of crap and only Lily's kind will be afraid of such. Some were running out frightened and crying. As we entered, I wasn't wrong. It was dark, and all those dim-lights were focused on those displays made of cloth, foam and fake blood. Karl and I was very calm and a bit bored while others were running and screaming like babies. I saw a guy that brought his girlfriend there just to make her hug him so tight because of being frightened by those fake ghosts.

"Aren't you afraid, Kyla?" Karl asked.

"No. Even if I am, I wouldn't dare to hug you so don't be cheesy." I answered.

"Hahahah! You're one of a kind." He said. "Have you seen the ghost at the entrance? She's a cute child."

"A child? I haven't seen any?" I said.

"Oh, it seems that you haven't developed your skill yet. At first, you only see the ghosts that you want to see. That's why I only see my mother before." He explained. "For your case, you could only see…"

"Jack!" I shouted. I saw Jack right at the exit of the haunted house. I ran towards him and gave him a big hug. I felt at ease that he's here. I feel that we'll be having a rivalry atmosphere soon. I can see that Karl had jealousy spelled on his face when I focused my attention on Jack. I was still in the middle of a conversation with him when Karl suddenly grabbed my hand and ran towards the Ferris wheel.

"Come, let's ride the Ferris wheel." He said.

"Hey, wait. I was still talking to him." I said.

I could see Jack's face from afar. He was sad that I left him there. Karl cut into the line so we could go first. I didn't know that he was also well-known here. Or maybe just his surname. As the door of the wheel was locked, Karl sat down beside me. He looked a bit serious.

"You really like him?" He asked.

"Is it Jack? Yes, I do like him." I said.

"But he's a ghost. A wandering ghost of a suicidal butler." He said.

"Shut up, Karl!" I said, "How many times are we gonna talk about this? I don't care if he's a ghost or not. I like him for who he is...and its none of your business."

Karl is such a stubborn person. I know that he'll never stop until he gets what he wants. He held my shoulders and faced me. He was looking me straight in the eye. Slowly, he was getting closer. I knew what he was planning to do so I pushed his face away with my bare hands.

"Perv…" I whispered.

"I'm sorry." He said. "I just can't believe that he's better than me."

"You can call me nuts but...I really fell for him. Its hard to explain." I said.

After the ride, I saw Jack at the cotton candy stall. He was staring at us while Karl was holding my hand towards back to the limo. We had a bit snack before we went home. I can't consider this as a "fun" date. I was really nervous all this time.
