An excerpt from Katherine's diary entry:
Growing up and falling in love with Jack is very wonderful. I am so grateful to have him in my life though we are in heartaches right now.
Richard is still so harsh to me. I still haven't recovered from the bruises I had from him so I couldn't get out of my room. Two month ago, he forced me. I couldn't tell Jack because I know he would get mad.
I can see in Jack's eyes that he wanted to fight against Richard. But I told him to stay silent. I didn't want him to get involved with what Richard and I have been arguing about. This is the consequence I have to face because of being a daughter of the Leonne family.
Today, I had severe head aches and I vomit very frequently. The maids had presumptions that I am pregnant. It seems a bit awkward but I feel happy about it. Maybe it's just normal for a mother to feel this way. Though I know that this isn't the child from the man I love.
I don't know how to tell this to Jack. I want to be truthful to him but I don't know how would he react if he knew. But I hope he feels the same. I hope he would give his love to the child I might be bearing right now. For my sake, I hope he would.

My eyes are swollen. I've been up all night reading my mother's diary. I kept it in my drawer because my foster mom might see it. I haven’t thought of telling them yet that I already know my real identity. I headed to the dining room for my breakfast. I'm gonna be late again for school.
"Mom, Dad, Would you be mad if I start to find my real parents?" I asked.
They looked at each other like they were talking through their eyes. I was so nervous. I didn't know what would they say.
"It's your right, my dear." Dad said.
I was so relieved when my father said that. But I noticed that mom was silent and seemed a bit sad. I guess its just normal for parents to be possessive of their children.
There was someone knocking at the door. It was Lily. Its been quite a while since she visited our house.
"Let's go to school together", she said.
On our way, she stared at me like a freak. I was so annoyed that I asked her.
"What IS it, Lily?" As my eyes rolled.
"Tell me what happened yesterday. Did you have a date with your ghost friend? Or may I say, ghost-boyfriend?" She said with a very intriguing tone.
"Uhh, Lily, PHULEEASE! Stop teasing us. We're not dating." I answered.
Lily was still laughing and didn't stop teasing me until we were in class.

"Attention Class", our teacher said. "We'll be having a new student from now on. He just came back from London so he still has to adjust. Please be kind to him."
The new student entered our classroom. At first glance, I noticed that he's raised in a rich family. I wonder why he enrolled here in our pitiful school. His face was a bit gloomy. I guess he's not friendly.
"Good morning classmates, I am Karl Krauss. It is a pleasure to meet you all." He said with a British accent.
Some of my classmates were laughing because of this. Some were whispering, "Its another weirdo." I was startled when our teacher called out my name and said, "Kyla, I'll assign you to guide Karl for the next few weeks. Is that okay with you?"
I was a bit worried because I can't let him know about my secret about Jack. I might be caught if I'll be with him for the next few weeks.
Oh, but why did I answer, "Yes, sir".
