I was still in the state of shock when the ghost spoke to me. He then lifted his face and was now also looking at the mirror. Looking at me, he smiled. A very sweet smile that was not even frightening but my knees were trembling. I was very scared. I was unsure if he would hurt me or not.
"W-who are y-you?" I asked with a shivering voice.
His arms slowly released my shoulders and he went about two steps backward. He still had that smile on his face that was so calm. He then answered,
"Why don't you turn around and look at me? If you do, I'll tell you."
" I'm scared." I said.
"Don't be. I won't hurt you… I promise" He uttered with that calm smile.
I then closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and turned around. As I opened my eyes, I saw him. He was like an inch higher than me. He was a little blurred. Maybe because he "is" a ghost. He was still staring at me with that smile, I could not forget. It looked familiar to me. I was still a little nervous when he went a bit close to me and looked me in the eye. He whispered, "Its me, Jack."
"don't you remember?" He asked.
"I'm sorry, I think you're wrong. I'm Kyla. I never knew you" I answered.
That's where his sweet smile disappeared from my sight. His face went plain and he was like, a little disappointed. He turned his back on me and walked away. I already felt calm so I had the courage to talk to him. I stopped him saying, "wait! Are you… the rumored ghost here in this mansion?" The wind suddenly got strong. There was like a twister that came from him. Everything blurred from the dust and he was slowly disappearing from my sight. "Wait! Jack!" I shouted. It was too late. He was gone and so was the wind as well.
I continued searching for him. I thought that maybe he was just around the mansion. There were still old pictures on the wall of the hallway. At the third floor of the right wing, I found a door with a diamond doorknob. It was locked. I tried to open it several times but it would not open. I also tried to slam myself at it but when I was about to push, it suddenly opened. Jack was inside. I was so surprised. He was still with his grumpy face on. I did not give in my fright. I gave him a grin and said "I found you".
"What do you want?" He said grumpily
I replied with a big smile and entered the room. It was lovely. It was clean and cozy. It was as big as our house and there was a beautiful chandelier at the center. The bed was huge with beautiful curtains and there were scented candles in every corner. "Is this your room?" I asked. He was silent. He sat by the window pane and ignored me. I went to him and reached out my hand.
"I'm sorry if I said anything wrong a while ago. Can we be friends?" I said.
That's where it all started. I didn't expect that after that day, everything would change. My belief about ghosts, my perspective, my interests. He held my hand and knelt down in front of me. He kissed my hand that made me blush and said "As you wish, my lady".
