Amara

I know that if I spend too much time looking at my child. I'd probably break down and cry. The sight of her makes me weak, because her innocent smile reminds me of mine, where I see a ray of light when everything feels right, her face reminds me of my childhood memories where I catch a glimpse of both heaven and earth.

And my heart ache to see how much her father's resemble hers, it melts my cold heart and takes my breath away. The touch of her hands makes me feel a warm hand caressing my face. Her arms make me think of a secure place where I usually bury myself and cried when I'm upset and scared. Her lips have the same soothing effect as someone who gently kissed my tears away and whisphered loving words into my ear.

Everything about her makes me fall inlove again.

"You're just look like her, my dear." Mommy said while looking down on my child in my arms.

Naiiyak akong ngumiti sa kanila at tiningan si mommy saka binalingan si Isabella na kinukuhanan ako ng video simula pa kanina.

"What is her name?" Isabella asked lightly.

"Amara." I said almost in a whisphered.

"That's a good name, dear." Mommy said with a smile.

I smiled as well as my eyes turn soft while looking down at my baby in my arms.

Kasalukuyan kaming nasa ospital ngayon. Amara was born on the thirteenth day of January 2023 in Barcelona, Spain.

"Hi, Amara, baby. I'm your Tita Ysa." Sa maliit na boses na tawag ni Isabella sa anak ko.

Tumulo ang mumunting luha sa pisnge ko at tiningala si mommy. Mommy smiled with teary eyes and went to me to kissed my forehead.

"Congratulations." Banayad na sambit ng aking Ina.

Days went by swiftly. While I was pregnant with Amara, I stayed at home, because my relatives warn me and forbade me from leaving my mother's house after we learned what had happened in the Philippines.

"Your father hired a private investigator regarding your case. It says that your driver fake his identity." Sabi ni Tito Sam through a video call.

"What do you mean by that?" Nagsalubong ang kilay ko.

"That man's father is known by your father in business. Hindi siya driver. He is a son of an old rich family whose business went bankrupt."

"I don't understand, Tito. Could you please elaborate." Nakakunot na sabi ko.

Napabuntong hininga si Tito Sam. "One of their investment turn out badly and their current investment failed as well. These several investments bankrupt his father, including their gambling debts. The son should be taking over the company by then, but he couldn't make it after their business failed."

"Then what? Anong kinalaman nito sa nangyayari ngayon?" Tanong ko dahil hindi ko makuha ang punto nila.

"They had strike a deal with your father. Kuya Domino buy all of their stocks to save their company. They thought your father did that to help, but it wouldn't be that simple. Their shares drop, their company suffers too much loss. Even if they work it alone, it will still failed. Your father rebrand and reorganized their company as a solution and it's now under the subsidiary of the Alvarez Corporation."

Napakurap kurap ako, at ng maunawaan ang punto nila ay bahagya akong umahon sa pagkakaupo at unti unting umusbong ang iritasyon sa akin.

"Its their fault then. Why should they take it on my father? They shouldn't allowed my father to acquire all of their stocks in the first place if they don't want to lose their company. Sana hinayaan nalang nilang tuluyang mawala ang kompanya nila! It is completely lost anyway!" Tumaas ang boses ko.
