Chapter 17

      Everyone was having a lovely date night, Nyx was watching romance movies with Brian, James, and Indigo, who were on their first date together, Alora and Liam had the house to themselves.

      Alora and Liam were laying in bed, making out, when Liam stopped to say, "I need to tell you something, but I don't know if you're ready to hear it." Alora felt her heart sink when he said this. Alora was panicking that Liam didn't like her the way she wanted him to, but she insisted that he tell her anyway. Liam worked up the courage to say, "I've never, in my life, felt this way about anyone before. I care deeply about you. Alora Guard, I love you." Alora felt overwhelmed by what he said. Though she felt the same way, she didn't know what to say. "Liam, I love you too." Was all Alora could get out. Liam held Alora close to him.

      James and Indigo were having a wonderful date. After they ate dinner, James said, "I'm having a really good time. I don't want this to end." Indigo replied with the question, "Why does it have to?" Indigo and James decided to have the night of their lives. They went to a bar and did a few rounds of karaoke. They did shots, then got a hotel room for the rest of the date. The next morning, Indigo looked over at James and realized what she did. Indigo went to the bathroom, trying to hide her tears. She felt ashamed of herself, for it was only supposed to be dinner. Indigo started to feel as if she cheated on Logan. She thought to herself about the fact that this was the first time she had felt connected to someone other than her husband.

      Alora woke up and looked over at Liam. The two said good morning to one another. They decided to get ready for school. Alora went downstairs to make a quick breakfast for Liam and herself. At school, Alora got out of the car with Liam, and Liam wanted to hold Alora's hand. Alora was happy holding Liam's hand until they got into the building. When they entered the school, Alora got uncomfortable, pulled her hand away from Liam, and then folded her arms. Liam knew something was wrong, so he tried putting his arm around her, but she said, "I have to get to class, see you later."

      Nyx saw Liam, so she walked up to him, saying, "How's the lover? I know you went to Alora's last night." Liam replied, "I told her that I love her." Nyx got excited when she heard this, but noticed Liam looked the complete opposite of happy. Liam went on to explain the night before, up to everything that just happened. Nyx was confused by Alora's personality change.

      Alora sat in class thinking to herself, 'I love him, but I'm scared. I'm not supposed to be in this town, I might hurt Liam. The last thing I want is for him to be decapitated, and it is my fault. I can't risk his life.' Alora tried doing her school work, but could only think of Liam getting hurt. After a few minutes of stressing, the lights in the classroom made a loud pop sound and shattered everywhere. Alora knew she was the one who shattered the lights in the classroom. Alora decided to act like she had no idea what happened. Alora looked for Nyx, but instead, was met by Emma Amelia. Emma said to Alora, "I don't know how, but I know somehow you are behind the lights breaking your freak." Alora's eyes turned black as she said "Back off bitch." Emma was thrown back by what Alora had said to her, causing her to walk away with anger. Alora didn't know what came over her, but she realized the spell was wearing off, so she quickly ran to get her backpack, so that she could drink another elixir before it wore off completely.

      Liam was walking down the hall, when he came across Emma, and she said to him, "You need to keep an eye on your girlfriend. I'm almost ready to attack her, for she insulted me." Liam replied to Emma, "Well, you probably deserve it." Emma saw Alora around the corner, so she decided to talk and flirt with Liam. "I miss being with you. It was so nice when we were together. Remember that one night at Goldmoon's party when we got drunk and then got in your car, and well, you know what we did. I shouldn't have to remind you about the best day of your life." Alora heard this conversation take place, and ran off, so she wouldn't hear anymore of it. Liam told Emma, "The best day of my life, is when I told Alora I loved her. One thing I was never able to tell you. Our relationship was based on nothing but sex. Now, never talk to me again." Emma walked away implying that she got what she wanted.

      Nyx saw Alora running and in tears. Nyx had fear of might have happened.
