Chapter 27

      Liam wondered about Alora with her dad. Liam knew Angels existed, but never thought he would witness someone have a conversation with one. Alora knew Liam wasn't able to understand what happened. Liam wanted to understand Alora but knew that he never would.

      At school, Alora was putting her bag away in her locker. Emma Amelia walked up to Alora and whispered, "Hey, I know we've had our differences, but I hear we have a common enemy." Alora looked at Emma, then slammed her locker shut, and walked away. Emma followed Alora, saying, "I know Jasper's the alpha and we both want him dead." Alora stopped and turned to Emma wondering how she knew Jasper was the alpha. Emma explained that she comes from a long line of hunters. Emma then went on to say "I want to kill a werewolf to make my dad proud, you want to kill Jasper. We would both benefit from this." Alora wondered what the real reason was behind Emma wanting her help. Emma explained how she knows everything about the town, including Alora. Alora looked at Emma and asked, "Why should I help you after all the shit you have done to me?" Emma knew it would be hard, but she was determined to get Alora's help to kill Jasper.

      Alora told Liam What happened, and Liam knew Emma was up to something. "Emma doesn't do anything nice unless she always benefits from it." Liam said in an angry voice. Alora tried to calm Liam down, but Liam got up and went to look for Emma.

      Liam found Emma in the hallway at school. In a deep angry voice, Liam asked "Why are you asking my girlfriend for help?" Liam's eyes became solid red. Alora ran to find Nyx. Liam continued to raise his voice at Emma, "You better give me a good explanation before I rip your throat out." Emma was scared, answering Liam, "I only wanted her help because I know she could kill Jasper before he can even get close to her. I'm not strong enough to do it alone."

      Alora and Nyx came around the corner, seeing Emma scared and Liam with bright red eyes, along with his fangs exposed. Nyx and Alora ran to them. Alora tried to calm Liam, but Nyx took time to yell at Emma. Alora held Liam's hand, and Liam was able to hide his fangs along with his eyes going back to normal. After Nyx was done speaking her mind, Liam said to Emma, "Hey Emma, find someone else to do your dirty work." Liam walk away while holding Alora's hand. Before Nyx could walk away, Emma said, "I know you hate Jasper. I can help you with that." Nyx thought about it, but didn't want to talk at the moment, so she gave Emma her number and the left.

      Nyx said to Liam, "You're lucky no one was in the halls. What if someone saw you threatening Emma in your vampire form?" Liam apologized for his behavior. Alora wondered how easily it was for Liam to get that angry, for it scared her.

     Nyx stayed with someone she knew all day, for she did not feel safe being alone. Nyx felt as if people were following her, watching her every move. Nyx couldn't stop thinking about what Emma told her, could she really help.

     At the Guard's house, Indigo was in the kitchen working on a new recipe she had learned. Indigo wondered if she should invite James and Brian for dinner at her house. Indigo called James, excited to invite him over. James happily accepted the invite. Indigo started dinner, and loved how it was turning out.
